1990 Hot Wheels Blue Chrome Corvette Real Riders: Buyer Guide

The blue-chrome 1990 Hot Wheels Custom Corvette with Real Riders is a factory California Custom configuration. A blue convertible with modern rubber tires is not automatically the same edition.

Identify the Real Riders configuration
The Custom Corvette catalog records 1990 item 1301 in chrome blue with yellow Real Riders. It separately lists a chrome Turbo Wheels version. This is the later convertible casting family, not the original Redline Corvette.
Check the tire edges and hubs
Ask for close photographs of all wheel faces and visible tire edges. Look for cracking, uneven seating and replacement parts. A correct hub color can be transferred from another model, so it is still important to ask whether the body or axles were altered.
Do not remove an older tire to test it or force a bent axle into shape before its condition has been documented. An intact original and a repaired display car are different offers.
Inspect the chrome and open cockpit
Request overhead and front-quarter views that show the windshield edge and cabin. Look for cracks, missing details and repair glue. A good-looking side image may hide damage on the far windshield corner.
Use diffuse light to inspect the reflective finish on the hood and upper body edges. Ask about polishing, repainting and finish repairs. A darker blue reflection is not proof of a rare factory shade.
A modern Corvette donor for your own finish

The C7 Z06 convertible kit is a different generation and an unfinished donor, not an original 1990 California Custom. Check the listed components and arrange your finishing supplies and custom wheel upgrades separately.
Keep the wheel versions distinct
Use our blue-chrome Turbo Wheels guide for the other factory configuration. Do not use a parts swap to establish a new original identity.
For a packaged purchase, request the complete original card and seal photographs. Compare dated completed sales with matching wheels, originality, condition and packaging, including delivery. A modern kit price is not a vintage appraisal.
