This is the more direct purchase when the additional red decoration and silver body fit your display. Although A sorts before B in the codes, A here identifies the later represented vehicle year. Use the full name rather than inferring chronology from the suffix.
What the two miniatures share
Both are Modern Muscle releases at 1:64, with an approximate listed length of 2.875 inches. They specify opening hoods, rubber tires, diecast metal bodies and chassis, and individual blister packaging.
The descriptions do not establish a difference in operating features between these two editions. No powered function, signature or separate driver figure is promised by the Petty's Garage name. Choose the named car and decoration rather than expecting extra contents.
When the Boss 302 is the better subject choice
The 2012 Boss 302 in Competition Orange, 64502-AWSP186B, is a separate Mustang subject with black accents. It also lists an opening hood and an approximate 2.875-inch length.
Choose the Boss when the recipient collects that trim or prefers the orange-and-black presentation. It is not another color of the Petty's Garage King Premier or Tribute car, and its 302 designation should not be confused with a miniature production quantity.

King Premier plus Tribute creates a focused two-edition Petty's Garage display. A Petty's Garage car plus the Boss 302 creates a broader Mustang lineup spanning different named subjects and years.
