Oxford N-Scale Volkswagen: T1 Samba, T2 Camper, Van or Pickup?

Oxford Volkswagen T1 Samba in two-tone green with surfboards on its roof rack

Choose the T1 Samba for a bus subject, the T2 camper for a holiday vehicle, the T2 van for an enclosed work vehicle, or the pickup for an open-bed scene. Oxford offers these as distinct 1:148 models. The Volkswagen name does not make their bodies or accessory contents interchangeable.

T1 Samba: with or without a stated roof load

The two-tone green Samba, NVWS005, explicitly lists right-hand drive and surfboards on a roof rack. Its approximate model length is 1.125 inches. Choose it when the surfing accessory is part of the display you want.

The Sealing Wax Red and gray Samba, NVWS001, is a different finish with a listed length of approximately 1 inch. Its description does not list the green model's surfboards, so do not assume every Samba carries them.

T2 camper: the holiday-body choice

The Saturn Yellow and white T2 Bay Window camper, NVW016, is listed at approximately 1.125 inches long.

Choose this offer for the camper subject rather than treating any T2 van as a camping conversion. Its description specifies no opening panels and does not establish a working pop-top, accessible kitchen or removable interior. It is a finished external representation for a static scene.

T2 van: a work-oriented alternative

The Peru Green T2 van, NVW001, offers an enclosed body, also listed at approximately 1.125 inches. A Senegal Red van is separately available in the collection.

A van can serve a suggested service-yard or delivery scene without the holiday emphasis of the camper. The offer does not include company decals, loose cargo or a driver; choose any additional scenery separately.

T2 pickup: choose the open-bed subject deliberately

The Emerald Green and Arkona White pickup, NVW006, is a distinct body style at approximately 1.125 inches long. It suits a display that needs a pickup rather than another enclosed van.

No opening panels are specified, so do not expect a working tailgate. A proposed miniature load needs to be measured against the actual bed; a shared N-scale label is not a load-fit guarantee.

Keep the collection proportionally consistent

All linked offers describe 1:148 models with diecast and plastic construction and included plastic showcases. They are not 1:87 HO Volkswagens. Our Oxford N-scale compatibility guide explains the separate 1:160 consideration.

Choose the body first, then its exact finish and accessory description. Check current availability in the Oxford Diecast collection at Muncle Mikes.
