Morris Mini Cooper #6 Gulf Oil Blue/Orange – Motormax 1:18: Scale, Subject & Display Guide

Morris Mini Cooper #6 Gulf Oil Blue/Orange – Motormax 1:18 deserves its own article because its identity is more specific than the surrounding category. The scale model cars record from Motormax is evaluated here through its exact naming, variant data, image evidence and intended project or collection use.

The record that separates this item

The scale marker 1:18 is part of the exact identity and should be matched before purchase. The year 1961 belongs to the listing identity; it should not automatically be treated as the manufacturing date of the item. The number 6 separates this release from visually similar versions. The working catalog key is F977-79743. That key should travel with the saved URL and product image so a later comparison does not collapse this item into another scale model cars listing.

The verified description in context

Current catalog evidence can be summarized as follows: “1961–67 Morris Mini Cooper #6 in light blue with orange Gulf Oil stripes and checkered top from Motormax City Classics. This 1:18 scale right-hand-drive diecast model is intended for collector display. Review the listing photos for the exact graphics, wheels and packaging. Item: 79743.” Every additional recommendation in this guide is framed as a check or planning step when the listing itself does not confirm the answer.

The category-specific decision

For a diecast or scale collectible, the subject name alone is insufficient. Compare body casting, finish, graphics, wheel design, interior, base markings and packaging format. On Morris Mini Cooper #6 Gulf Oil Blue/Orange – Motormax 1:18, the exact photo set and SKU F977-79743 are the reference pair; a model with the same vehicle name but a different wheel, road number or package is a different release.

Condition language must also match the format. A loose item is judged from the photographed surfaces and axles, while a packaged item adds card, blister, box and seal condition. A finished custom should be assessed for workmanship and disclosed modifications; a build kit should be assessed for included parts and fitment rather than as a completed collectible.

A closer project or collection check

When comparing another example, line up the images in the same order and inspect one feature at a time: front view, side graphics, rear treatment, wheel pattern, roof or hood markings, base text and package. A difference in any of those areas can indicate a variation rather than an error.

For display, choose storage that supports the item without pressing on mirrors, spoilers, blister edges or axles. For a build, dry-fit wheels and moving parts before paint or permanent adhesive. The product format determines which of those checks applies.

Image-by-image verification

The gallery contains 1 indexed product image. Compare label text, package shape, visible contents, finish and any small identifying marks with the delivered item. A context image can show tools or related products that are not included, so the written record and selected option still control package contents.

A disciplined final review

• Use the complete name, not a shortened marketplace label.
• Use F977-79743 to prevent a near-match substitution.
• Read the variant and inventory state shown now.
• Confirm technical requirements from the current manufacturer source.
• Keep the receipt and one reference image with the product record.
