Bburago McLaren MCL38 vs. MCL39: Miami, Australia and Display Options

Bburago McLaren MCL38 Lando Norris number 4 Miami 2024 car with driver figure, 1:24 item 28040LN

Choose the MCL38 for the Miami 2024 releases shown here, or the MCL39 for the Australia 2025 releases. Then match Norris number 4 or Piastri number 81. The larger MCL38 packages and smaller MCL39 options are different season purchases, not simply two sizes of one McLaren.

MCL38 Norris: case or three-inch driver figure?

The Norris Miami 2024 MCL38, 28033LN, includes a plastic showcase. Its 1:24 car is approximately 9 × 3.5 × 2 inches.

The Norris MCL38 figure set, 28040LN, supplies a driver figure approximately three inches tall with a car of the same listed dimensions. A plastic showcase is not documented for this figure package.

Choose the cased release for a covered car display or the figure set for a driver-and-car arrangement. The figure height is separate from the car height; a low enclosure chosen around the car alone may not suit the combined scene.

MCL38 Piastri: the same event, a different driver

The Piastri Miami 2024 MCL38, 28033OP, provides a 1:24 cased number 81 alternative with the same approximate car dimensions.

It is the relevant choice for a Piastri fan or a same-event McLaren pair. The Norris products are identified as winner editions; the Piastri listing is not. Do not transfer the race result just because the cars share an event and team.

MCL39 Norris: choose a smaller 2025 model

The Norris Australia 2025 MCL39, 38249LN, includes a plastic showcase and a 1:43 car approximately 5 × 1.75 × 1 inches.

For a still more compact option, the 1:64 Norris MCL39, 58001LN, is approximately 3.25 inches long and comes in a blister pack. That is retail packaging, not a separately documented display case.

A compact Piastri pairing

The Piastri MCL39, 58001OP, offers the number 81 car in the same 1:64 blister-packed format and approximate length.

Choose the two small MCL39s when matching scale and season matters. Mixing a nine-inch MCL38 with a 3.25-inch MCL39 can still make a driver-focused display, but it will not form a proportion-matched grid.

What all these car listings have in common

They document rubber tires, diecast construction with plastic components and no opening body panels. Choose among them for the race identity, scale and presentation, not for an assumed opening engine cover.

For a gift, write down the requested driver, event and year before comparing package prices. That small check prevents a Miami memory from being replaced by a different-season Australia model that happens to carry the same number.
