GCD Transporter Display Space: Shelf, Case, Ramp and Side-Panel Clearance
Size a GCD transporter display for the scene you plan to show, not just the parked truck. A lowered ramp, open side panel or tall car can extend beyond the dimensions listed for the transporter itself.
First choose whether the model will be displayed parked, loaded, or with access features open. That decision changes the shelf and case requirements.
Compare GCD transporters for your display space
Actros: begin with the 13-inch combination
The white Actros KS-069-400 is approximately 13 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and two inches high with its trailer attached. The listed length without the trailer is five inches.
Mark the complete outline on the shelf before adding scenery. If you plan a detached arrangement, measure the tractor and trailer positions together; putting them at an angle does not necessarily save space.
The five-inch tractor measurement does not give the trailer's separate length by simple subtraction, because coupled components may overlap.
Hino and Fuso: shorter, but with a different access envelope
The Hino 700 KS-093-738 and Fuso KS-073-635 are each approximately 9.5 × 1.5 × 2.5 inches.
They need less listed length than the complete Actros, but both sides open. The dimensions do not specify the full space required with panels deployed. A narrow slot that accepts the closed body may not let you display or operate those features.
Leave room for the loading approach
For an Actros ramp scene, allow room behind the truck for the ramp and any car positioned at its foot. The car's length adds to the scene even when it is not yet on the carrier.
Do not invent a fixed allowance from a promotional photo. The supplied instructions and actual deployed ramp determine the necessary space. Keep the entire arrangement supported rather than allowing a ramp or vehicle to hang over the shelf edge.
Loaded height is a separate measurement
A car on an exposed upper position can become the highest part of a loaded display. Measure the complete arrangement before choosing a cover.
For a side-opening transporter, verify the car's clearance inside the body as well as the clearance around the truck outside. A case that fits the transporter does not prove its cargo fits the truck.
Compare usable case dimensions
A case's outside dimensions include its walls and base. Use the interior width, length and height available around the finished scene, with room to remove the cover without catching a mirror or panel.
The inspected transporter listings do not specify an included acrylic display case or a certified case model. Choose storage only after deciding which truck, cargo and open-panel configuration you will display.
A compact first arrangement
On a restricted shelf, begin with the transporter parked and one car alongside, provided the surface supports both. A full eight-car load or every open panel is not required for a useful display. Expand the scene only after checking actual clearances.
