Black Bandit Series 30 makes that distinction important: the linked six-model assortment contains four cars, one Dodge Power Wagon fire truck and one M4 Sherman tank. It is not six cars. This guide explains the lineup and shows how individual releases can support a more selective collection.

What is in Black Bandit Series 30?

The Series 30 six-model set, 28170SET, lists the following standard assortment, all in 1:64 scale.

The assortment listing specifies individual blister packaging and a factory-sealed case. It also allows a Green Machine or Raw Machine chase to replace a standard model. A chase is not guaranteed. Read that qualification before treating the standard lineup as a guarantee of every exact finish in the box.

Choose the full set when the mixed lineup is the appeal

Series 30 offers more than a row of similar black coupes. Its truck and tank change the shape of the display, while the four cars span different represented years and body styles. That variety is a reason to consider the assortment when you want the series as a whole.

It is a less direct choice when you only collect Mustangs or only want road cars. In that case, evaluate the individual releases instead of buying unwanted models solely to obtain a matching package.

A complete numbered set is also different from a personal display of six chosen Black Bandit vehicles. Both are valid collecting approaches, but they should be labeled accurately in collection notes or resale descriptions.

Start with a single: the Power Wagon fire truck

The 1946 Dodge Power Wagon fire truck, 28170C, is a Series 30 single in black. Its listing identifies rubber tires, diecast metal body/chassis construction and an approximate length of 3.125 inches.

Consider it when you prefer utility vehicles or want a different body shape beside an existing row of cars. The fire-truck identity is part of the listed model. A Black Bandit finish should not be described as a documented real department’s historical livery unless separate evidence establishes that connection.

Give the Sherman its own display clearance

The M4 Sherman 76 long-barrel tank, 28170D, is another Series 30 single. The listing identifies black camouflage and an approximate length of 3.75 inches, or 4.25 inches including the barrel.

The barrel matters when choosing a case or positioning neighboring models. A case intended for a small 1:64 car is not automatically suitable for this model. Check usable interior dimensions and avoid a layout that puts the projecting barrel against a cover or another collectible.

The tank is a complete miniature vehicle in this assortment, not an accessory included with the Power Wagon.

Series 31’s Mustang convertible is a different release

The 2024 Mustang GT convertible, 28190B, belongs to Black Bandit Series 31. It is not the 2024 Mustang GT coupe named in the Series 30 assortment.

That is a useful distinction for Mustang collectors. Compare the body style, series and item number together. The same model year and black color do not make the two releases identical. The convertible listing gives an approximate length of 2.75 inches and identifies rubber tires and metal body/chassis construction.

Make a black-finish display readable

When several dark models sit together, give their outlines room to stand apart. A light or neutral backdrop and spacing between vehicles can make the shapes easier to appreciate. Rotate one model slightly only when the shelf is deep enough to accommodate the full footprint.

Review actual photographs before expecting matching gloss, trim or wheel treatment across every release. “Black Bandit” identifies a series theme; it is not a promise that every surface on every model has an identical finish.

For mixed vehicle types, arrange by height or give the tank and truck a separate section. That can keep a larger shape from obscuring the smaller cars.

Do not confuse a standard dark finish with a chase

A black model is not a chase simply because it is Black Bandit. Nor does the word “limited” establish a resale value or a guaranteed production quantity. Use the exact product description and identifiable variant details when buying a specific edition.

The set’s possible chase substitution is not a seventh bonus model. It is described as a possible replacement for a standard model. The relevant product page remains the source for the offer’s current terms.

Which Black Bandit purchase makes sense?

Choose Series 30 for its complete mixed-vehicle concept, the Power Wagon or Sherman for a selective theme, or the Series 31 Mustang convertible when that exact body style is the goal. Compare current prices and contents rather than assuming the largest assortment is the best purchase for everyone.
