GT Spirit Mustang Models: Super Snake, Convertible or RTR Spec-3?

GT Spirit GT572 Shelby Mustang Super Snake Convertible in white with blue stripes, 1:18 scale

Choose GT531 for the Race Red Shelby Super Snake, GT572 for the white-and-blue Super Snake Convertible, or GT565 for the Mustang RTR Spec-3. All three are finished 1:18 resin models with no opening parts, but the named build and cabin presentation differ.

For a Mustang fan, getting Shelby versus RTR—and the intended roof style—right matters more than treating every modified Mustang as equivalent.

Super Snake GT531: Race Red and white stripes

The Shelby Super Snake, GT531, is listed in Race Red with white stripes. Choose it when this Shelby presentation is the main reason for buying.

It is distinct from the separately named convertible listing. Compare the photos and exact GT reference when ordering a gift; a collector with a particular Super Snake in mind may not consider a different roof presentation an acceptable substitute.

Super Snake Convertible GT572: white and blue

The Super Snake Convertible, GT572, is white with blue stripes. Choose this release for its convertible body presentation and contrasting color combination.

The listing still states that there are no openings. “Convertible” identifies the car represented; it does not promise a functioning folding top, a removable roof supplied in the box or doors that open.

For a display where the cabin presentation is important, examine the pictured configuration before buying. Purchase that configuration as shown rather than assuming it can be changed afterward.

RTR Spec-3 GT565: a separate Mustang subject

The Mustang RTR Spec-3, GT565, is listed by Muncle Mikes as Lime Green. It is the RTR choice in this comparison, not another Shelby Super Snake finish.

Use GT565 and the current product photographs when confirming the finish. Color wording alone is a weaker identifier than the exact release reference, particularly for bright yellow-green shades that can look different across screens.

Choose RTR when that build identity is the collector’s interest. The Spec-3 name does not mean the model is a three-stage assembly kit or includes performance parts to install.

Longer Shelby or wider RTR?

The two Shelby listings give approximate dimensions of 10.5 × 4 × 3 inches. RTR GT565 is listed at approximately 10 × 4.5 × 2.5 inches.

On those merchant values, the RTR needs more width but less length. Neither is a universal fit for every case labeled 1:18. Leave clearance around the model and verify usable case dimensions rather than placing bumpers or mirrors against the cover.

What all three purchases share

Each inspected listing confirms resin construction, rubber tires, cabin and exterior detailing, and a completed model rather than an assembly kit. There is no working engine, opening bonnet or operating roof mechanism promised here.

For one purchase, prioritize Shelby or RTR, then the body presentation and color. For a pair, choose two because they represent distinct interests—not simply because two listings both say Mustang.
