Choose Herpa HE580892 for a finished 1:72 MQ-9A Reaper Block 5 with alternate landing-gear elements and a display stand. It offers a parked or in-flight-style presentation, but it is a static collectible—not a flyable drone. Plan for an approximately eleven-inch wingspan before choosing a display location.

Identify the exact Reaper release

The MQ-9A Block 5, HE580892, represents 15-4298 in the New York Air National Guard, Hancock Field presentation. The product gallery shows the gray aircraft, long wings and rear propeller on a labeled stand.

Keep the Block 5 designation, item code and aircraft identity together when comparing another MQ-9 offer. A generic Reaper title does not establish identical markings, scale or display contents.

The miniature is already finished. It is not a conventional plastic construction kit requiring the buyer to build and paint the airframe.

Two gear presentations, not two aircraft

Herpa documents two sets of landing-gear elements and a stand for this release, allowing the model to be presented with the gear extended or in an in-flight configuration.

Those alternate pieces do not mean two complete aircraft are supplied. They also should not be mistaken for a powered or continuously retracting undercarriage mechanism. Follow the supplied instructions when fitting the parts for the selected display.

Keep the unused elements with the packaging. That makes a later change of presentation possible without confusing small parts with accessories from another model.

The wingspan is more important than the short body

The store lists an approximate fuselage length of 5.875 inches. Herpa specifies a 278 mm wingspan—about 10.94 inches—for the release. Allow more than that span inside a cover so neither wingtip touches the enclosure.

The store's rounded span figure is slightly smaller, so do not choose a tight case from that value alone. Confirm the actual model's outer dimensions where clearance is critical.

A stand adds height and its own base footprint. An in-flight display therefore needs the dimensions of the complete mounted arrangement, not just the aircraft's length and width.

Choose the pose for the way the model will be viewed

An elevated pose shows the broad wing and underside details differently from a parked aircraft. A landing-gear display may be more suitable for a static airfield scene, provided the scene uses the same scale.

Leave room behind the aircraft for the propeller and around the small projecting details. Those pieces are not safe lifting points. This guide does not claim hands-on testing of the supplied fittings.

Match companions by scale

The Herpa Alpha Jet VTX-TS release, HE580861, is another 1:72 military-series subject, but it represents a different aircraft and has its own contents.
