Maisto Mustang GTD: 1:18 Special Edition vs. 1:64 Speed Icons

Maisto’s Mustang GTD comes in two very different display sizes here: a dark-gray 1:18 Special Edition and a purple 1:64 Speed Icons model. Decide whether you want one larger car to focus on or a small model to join an existing row.

The dark-gray model is 31468GRY and the purple one is 15713PU. Both represent the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD; that is the vehicle’s model year, rather than a production date for the individual miniature.

The buying differences that matter

Both use diecast construction with plastic components and rubber tires. Their opening parts and packaging differ, so compare those details alongside size and color.

1:18 Special Edition: choose it for the larger presentation

The dark-gray GTD measures approximately 10.25 × 4.25 × 2.75 inches in the listing. Its opening hood and doors let you show the listed engine-compartment and cabin detail.

Leave room beside the doors and above the hood if you want them open. A case that only clears the closed car may not suit that arrangement.

A storage case, opening trunk, working lights and powered operation are not specified. Check those individually if any is essential to your display.

1:64 Speed Icons: choose it for a small-scale row

The purple GTD is listed at approximately 2.875 inches long, with opening doors and a bonus storage box. It is the compact option if you already collect small-scale cars.

The included box is described as storage packaging, with no promise that it is an acrylic display case. Check its own dimensions if you plan to display the boxed model.

Opening doors are confirmed for this release. The larger GTD’s opening hood is not listed for the purple 1:64 model.

How much more room does the large model need?

The catalog lengths make the large model roughly three and a half times as long: 10.25 divided by 2.875 is about 3.57. Use that as a size comparison between these offers, then check width and height separately for your shelf or case.

The smaller car can sit among several others; the larger one takes more of the shelf’s attention. Choose the arrangement you enjoy and have room for.

Make sure the request is for a GTD

Keep GTD in the full name when choosing a gift. A Shelby GT500, Dark Horse or classic Mustang is a different subject, even if the recipient collects the same badge.

Check the finish as well. These gray and purple examples are not identical color choices in two sizes.

One scale or both?

Pick one scale to fit an existing display, or collect both if you enjoy comparing the same subject in different formats. Separate rows keep each scale’s proportions clear.
