Norev Scale and Size Guide: 1:18 vs. 1:43 vs. 1:64

Choose 1:18 for a larger individual Norev display, 1:43 for compact cars, or the listed 1:64 transporter set for a small coordinated scene. Then check the exact model's dimensions: scale is a ratio, not a standard length shared by every vehicle.

For the same full-size subject, a 1:18 miniature is larger than a 1:43 or 1:64 version. But a truck, sports car and SUV start with different proportions, and their accessories can change the space you need.

Shop Norev models by scale and subject

1:18 cars: check width and height, not just length

The Porsche 911 Carrera 187170 has approximate catalog dimensions of 9.5 inches long, 4 inches wide and 2.75 inches high.

The G-Class Professional 183030 is approximately 10.375 × 4.5 × 4.5 inches. It needs substantially more vertical room even though both models are 1:18.

Those figures are supplier-listed approximations, not independent measurements. A cabinet planned around low sports cars may not accommodate the G-Class roof rack. A case selected by an advertised scale alone is not a fit guarantee.

1:43 models: compact does not mean identical features

The Ford GT40 MkII 270578 is approximately 3.875 × 1.5 × 1 inches and lists an opening engine compartment.

The Beetle 1303 with surfboards, 841007, is approximately 3.75 × 1.25 × 1.5 inches. Its two surfboards are removable, but body openings are not listed.

Choose the GT40 for the racing-car subject or the Beetle for the roof-rack scene. Shared scale does not imply matching roof height or the same operating parts.

1:64 transporter: separate vehicle lengths from set size

The Mercedes-Benz Renntransporter and W196 set 311000 contains two vehicles. The catalog gives approximate lengths of 4 inches for the truck and 2.5 inches for the car.

Do not automatically add those lengths to describe a loaded arrangement. Displaying the car on the truck and displaying them side by side require different footprints. Leave room for the layout you intend to use.

Allow for open panels and packaging

An open door needs space beside the car. A raised hood needs room above it. Removable accessories need a safe position when displayed separately. Our Norev opening-feature guide explains why those checks must follow the exact release.

For boxed collecting, use the package dimensions rather than the loose-model measurements. An included base, where specified, is not automatically a clear display case.

Measure three spaces

Check the model's complete footprint, the case's usable interior, and the case's exterior against the shelf. Allow a margin rather than buying a cover that exactly matches an approximate catalog measurement.

Mix scales deliberately on separate rows or as individual displays. For a proportional scene, matching scale is the starting point; actual vehicle and accessory fit still need checking.
