Beach PatrolIdentify the named release
The black Chevy S-10 with a large side number 10 was sold as Path Beater in 1986. It belongs with Beach Patrol, the compact pickup casting. The Path Beater name also appears on a different plow truck, so start with the body before sorting by the card name.
The black number 10 release
The 1986 item 2534 wears yellow, red and white racing decoration on black paint. The side reads Chevy S-10; the hood includes S10 and 350 h.p. lettering. Its release entry specifies a red interior, clear glazing and an unpainted Malaysia base.
White-hub Real Riders are documented in both Real Riders and Trailbusters packaging. The photograph here shows the Real Riders card. Packaging series and casting identity are separate details.
Check the pickup, then the tires
Look down into the bed and compare the cab, front end and side decoration. The blister hides the underside and some of the far side, so request those views for a car you plan to buy.
Inspect the rubber tires for splits and flat spots, and check the hubs for discoloration. Do not pull an old tire off simply to identify it. A clear wheel-face photograph is a better first step.
Path Beater is a shared name
The later Ecology Recycle Center Path Beater is a plow-equipped truck from the Super Scraper family. Its release details do not transfer to this Chevy S-10. The loose-car checklist helps record the base, wheels and repairs before assigning a release.
