History
With numerous two-seat Spitfires offering the public unique flight experiences across the nation, it is noteworthy that each Spitfire T.9 originated as a single-seat fighter, either a Mk.VIII or more frequently, a Mk.IX. Despite the Spitfire's status as perhaps the most renowned combat aircraft in history, with over 20,000 units produced, no official two-seat training versions were created during World War II. This post-war development has allowed the current fleet of Spitfire T.9s to play a crucial role in preserving the legacy of this remarkable aircraft.
