American Diorama Detail Masters: Choose Figures for a 1:18 Car-Care Scene

American Diorama Detail Masters Wheel Cleaning Figure 1, item 18601, in 1:18 scale; car excluded

Build a 1:18 detailing scene around the task you want to show, then choose the matching Detail Masters figure. Wheel Cleaning, Detail Prep and Buff & Wax are separate purchases with different listed heights. The Wet/Dry Vac is an equipment accessory, not an extra person just because its listing includes a figure number.

These inspected pieces are described as hand-painted polyresin. They are miniature display products, not working car-care equipment.

Wheel Cleaning: begin beside the wheel

Detail Masters Figure 1, Wheel Cleaning, 18601, is approximately 2.75 inches tall in its displayed pose.

Choose this figure when the wheel area is the focal point of your layout. Leave the wheel visible rather than placing the figure directly in front of the detail you want to show. The title identifies the activity, but it does not establish a perfect hand-to-wheel fit for every 1:18 model.

Detail Prep: allow more vertical clearance

Figure 2, Detail Prep, 18602, is listed at approximately 3.875 inches tall. It needs more vertical room than the Wheel Cleaning figure, even though both are 1:18.

This difference is important under a glass cover or on a closely spaced shelf. Check the figure’s height above the actual display base, not just the vehicle’s roof height. Review the pose before deciding which side of the car it belongs on.

Buff & Wax and Polish & Shine

Figure 4, Buff & Wax, 18604, is approximately 3.75 inches tall. Figure 5, Polish & Shine, AD18605, is approximately 3.25 inches tall.

Choose the activity and pose that works with your model’s visible body panels. You do not need both simply to communicate a detailing theme. Using one finishing figure and one wheel-area figure can give two parts of the layout distinct roles, provided the actual poses and space work together.

The Wet/Dry Vac is a separate accessory

The 1:18 Wet/Dry Vac, AD18606, is listed at approximately two inches tall. Its included item is the miniature Wet/Dry Vac; do not count it as an additional human figure.

Reserve a place for the equipment without blocking the car or trapping a figure between the vehicle and the case wall. Its listing does not promise suction, batteries or a working motor. Buy it for the visual role of the equipment in the scene.

Watch for the similar 1:24 listings

The 1:24 Detail Prep figure, 24602, is approximately 2.75 inches tall. That happens to match the listed height of the 1:18 Wheel Cleaning figure, but the two are not the same scale.

This is why height cannot replace the scale label. Check 1:18 on each selected product and compare the exact item numbers before ordering.

Keep the first arrangement focused

Choose the car, identify one visible task, add the appropriate figure and then decide whether equipment improves the story. The linked figure listings exclude the pictured cars; no complete detailing bay or vehicle bundle is implied.
