AUTOart Display Cases: 90001 vs. LBWK 90037 and 90038

Choose the case by usable space first and the base design second. AUTOart 90001, 90037 and 90038 are display accessories—not car-and-case bundles. A “1:18–1:24” description is a starting point, not proof that every car in those scales will fit.

The most consequential measurement is the space inside the cover. Overall case dimensions also include the base and cover structure.

What separates the three case choices?

The standard AUTOart 90001 case has a black plastic base and clear cover. Choose it when you want the car, rather than a branded base graphic, to define the display.

The 90037 LBWK case adds a green LBWK logo. The 90038 LBWK case uses a gold LBWK logo. These are design choices; a different logo color is not evidence of greater strength or protection.

Our listings describe clear acrylic covers, black plastic bases, a stackable design and approximate overall dimensions of 14 × 6 × 6 inches. The LBWK offers explicitly exclude the pictured car. Order the model separately when building a complete display.

Overall dimensions are not usable clearance

AUTOart's published dimensions for the standard 90001 are 35.5 × 15.5 × 15.3 cm overall, with a display space of 31.7 × 11.7 × 12.5 cm. The smaller figures are the relevant starting point for the model itself. They also explain why rounding the outside size to inches can conceal a tight fit.

Do not automatically transfer the standard case's interior measurements to another case solely because its external dimensions look similar. Confirm the usable space of the exact LBWK item when the fit is close.

Compare the widest part of the car, not only the tire track. Mirrors, wings and bodywork can determine fit. Also check the height above the case's display surface rather than measuring from the outside bottom of the base.

Two examples that show why checking matters

The 1:12 Ford GT, 12106, is listed at about 15 inches long. It is not an appropriate pairing with a case only about 14 inches long overall. A larger case is required; rotating the car does not turn an unsuitable case into a verified fit.

The 1:18 Ford GT, 72945, has a quoted width of 5 inches, or 12.7 cm. That exceeds the standard case's stated 11.7 cm display-space width. Because the car's figure is approximate, confirm its actual width before buying this combination rather than promising compatibility.

Closed cars and open displays need different checks

A model that fits with everything closed may not fit with doors or engine covers raised. Decide which presentation you intend to use, then measure that complete arrangement. Allow working room to lift the cover without brushing against a mirror or spoiler.

A cardboard footprint is useful for planning shelf placement. It cannot verify interior cover shape, height or an open panel's path, so it should supplement—not replace—the full measurements.

Stacking and protection: keep expectations specific

The listings describe the cases as stackable, but do not provide a maximum stack count or load rating. Keep the base on a stable, level surface and obtain those limits before building a tall stack.

No UV-filtering rating, airtight seal or impact-protection certification is established here. Choose the case for covered display, not as a substitute for careful shelf placement and handling.
