1990 Hot Wheels Peterbilt Dump Truck #100: Red Bed Buyer Guide

The 1990 Hot Wheels Peterbilt Dump Truck #100 has a red cab and red dump bed. Before buying, establish both the wheel version and the condition of the load body—not merely the color of the cab.

Identify the red item 1560
The Peterbilt catalog records clear glazing, an unpainted Malaysia base and blackwall wheels. The red Workhorses truck appears in 1989 as well. Later #100 entries use white blackwalls, seven-spoke and three-spoke wheels, so red paint does not identify one unique package year.
Inspect the bed and its attachments
Request rear, top and underside photographs that show the whole bed and its pivot area. Ask whether normal movement is smooth and whether any hinge, edge or tailgate component is repaired. Avoid forcing an old part to demonstrate its range.
Compare the cab and bed for mismatched finish, adhesive or exchanged components. An intact-looking replacement can suit a display when disclosed, but it is not the same originality claim as an untouched truck.
A different truck to assemble

The Revell W900 kit is a larger 1:25, level-5 building project. Paint and model cement are separate supplies. Check the parts and finished dimensions before choosing it as a gift or display project; it is not a ready-built Peterbilt collectible.
Compare original offers carefully
Ask for every wheel face and a level-surface photograph. Check axles and fasteners for repairs. For carded examples, inspect blister and card condition independently and confirm that the package shown is included.
Compare completed sales with the same wheel configuration, completeness and packaging. A single red truck, a five-pack vehicle and a model kit should not share one generic price range.
Dump-truck questions
Does a red bed establish a 1990 release?
No. Similar colors continue across other entries. Wheels and original packaging help resolve the date.
Does the product photo show collector #100?
No. It shows the separately offered Revell Kenworth project.
