BlimpIdentifying the 1995 edition
The Flyin’ Aces Photo Finish Blimp has a Los Angeles picture panel on a white airship body. The dark gondola below it is a separate identifying detail, easily lost when a listing shows only the side graphic.
Los Angeles, number 2 of four
The Photo Finish release is collector #332, item 13319. Its catalog entry describes a white body, Los Angeles landmarks and a metallic-black Malaysia base. The pictured card identifies it as number 2 of four.
The Hollywood lettering is visible in the side image. Do not substitute a Goodyear or Fuji-marked blimp photograph for this edition; those carry different decoration.
The fins need a closer look
Ask for a rear view showing each fin and its edge. A side photograph can hide a bent or damaged fin behind the body. Inspect the gondola attachment without forcing any part.
Check both printed panels for rubbed areas and scratches. Reflections through a blister can wash out the dark portions of the scene, so a second angle is useful.
Build the series by the artwork
The Aerostar carries Washington, D.C. landmarks and the Hiway Hauler shows New York. Keep the city, vehicle and series position in the record rather than describing all Photo Finish releases alike.
