Purpose of this methodology

Muncle Mikes is building a future collector-value layer around exact identification and documented market evidence. Collector values are not part of the current free Collector Membership launch. This page explains the rules that will govern the later paid value features.

Exact identification comes first

A value can only be useful when it is attached to the correct collectible. Casting family, release year, series, product or toy number, collector number, color, graphics, wheel type, base markings, country, packaging, scale and condition may all affect the result. Similar-looking releases must not be silently substituted for one another.

Planned evidence standard

The future value layer should rely on completed-market evidence that can be matched to the exact release as closely as possible. Active listings, asking prices and unmatched lookalikes should not be treated as equivalent to verified completed sales.

Confidence before precision

When evidence is thin, mixed or cannot be matched confidently to the exact release, the system should show uncertainty or withhold a value rather than manufacture precision. Better evidence should be able to replace weaker evidence later.

What a future value will mean

Any future Muncle Mikes collector value will be a documented collector-market estimate, not a formal appraisal, guaranteed selling price, dealer offer, insurance replacement value or promise of future performance.
