Suzuki QuadRacerFour tires and an exposed seat
Suzuki QuadRacer is small enough that the seat and wheel hubs do much of the identification work. The yellow example pictured here has a blue seat and yellow hubs, with collector number 17 visible on the card. That is a later numbered presentation of the familiar yellow ATV.
The yellow ATV came first
The 1987 Trailbusters release was listed as Suzuki ATV, item 3209. Yellow bodywork, a blue seat, black handlebars and an unpainted Malaysia base form the early combination. The QuadRacer name appears on subsequent releases, including the yellow collector #17.
Read the package name and number together. A loose yellow ATV may resemble the pictured car without proving which card it came on.
A seat color is worth recording
White #129 and pink #165 cars use blue seats. The later Hot Hubs #311 family includes lime-green and yellow bodies, purple or blue seats, and different wheel treatments. Yellow paint by itself does not make every version an early Trailbusters release.
Take the seat color in neutral light and photograph all four hubs. Keep those observations beside the base marking, especially when comparing two loose ATVs that look similar from above.
Look at the handlebars before the paint
The handlebars sit above the body where they are easy to knock. Request a front view that shows both ends, then look for glue, missing tips or an uneven shape. Do not pull them to test their fit.
The four fenders also deserve a close look underneath. A clean top view can conceal a broken edge behind a tire. Inspect the axles for wheels leaning inward and note replacements with the condition description.
The photograph above identifies the visible package and color combination. Use photographs of the actual ATV when comparing loose Hot Wheels, with the condition checklist for repairs and missing parts.
The lime Hot Hubs QuadRacer
The 1995 Hot Hubs release is collector #311, item 13298, and number 4 of four in the series. The pictured lime-green example has a purple seat and yellow Hot Hubs wheels. Its catalog entry lists a red logo on the right rear fender and a black-tinted Malaysia base.
Yellow bodies with purple or blue seats are also documented, along with a lime-green wheel variant. Record the body, seat and wheels individually. The later yellow chunky-tire entry should not be confused with the Hot Hubs wheel presentation.
Inspect the handlebars, front fender tips and rear grab area for broken pieces. Ask for an underside photo and a clear view of all wheel faces; the bright colors do not establish originality or condition by themselves.
The original Suzuki ATV card
The name on this card is worth a look. Item 3209 appears as Suzuki ATV in the 1987 Trailbusters records, then as QuadRacer in 1988. The later yellow number-17 card is listed for 1990. A loose yellow example does not carry that packaging history with it, so avoid assigning it to a particular card from paint alone.
White number 129: silver or yellow hubs
Both wheel treatments are recorded for the 1991 white release. The seat stays blue; the bright ring around each wheel hub is the obvious difference in these photographs. Record all four wheels when checking a loose example, rather than assuming the hidden side matches.
These carded references are useful for color and package comparison, but their small size cannot settle fine wear or repairs. On an actual ATV, check the exposed seat edges, both handlebar tips and the underside of each fender. A missing tip can disappear against a dark background.
