Armadillo from Lightyear Collector Guide
The Armadillo is a broad, workmanlike spacecraft rather than a sleek starfighter. Its dark blue-gray body, orange markings and small wheels carry the Lightyear design into Hot Wheels form. The 2022 and 2023 packages look different even though the ship’s decoration stays familiar.

What to look for
HCT14 is the 2022 Armadillo, HW Screen Time 9/10 and 179/250. HKH09 follows in 2023 as The Armadillo, at 5/10 and 79/250. The added word on the name and the new card numbers are useful when sorting packaged examples.

Choosing one for your collection
Check the engine housings and outer corners of the wide body. Those projecting sections can show knocks even when the central cabin looks clean.
Look underneath to check the small wheels and make sure the ship rests evenly. Do not use the packaging change alone to claim a new paint variation.
