Vega BombA long nose and Vega Bomb lettering

Vega Bomb stretches the Chevrolet Vega into a funny car, with an exposed intake and large rear wheels. The orange reference car carries Vega Bomb lettering along the side, with Goodyear and Cragar markings below. Its open window spaces are part of the original design, not missing glazing.

The 1975 Flying Colors car

The original Hong Kong Vega Bomb is documented in orange and light green, with a black interior and redline wheels. There is no window-glass insert. The side decoration combines the casting name with a bright racing design.

Check both sides: a clean near-side logo does not tell you whether the opposite side is rubbed away. The projecting nose and rear corners also deserve close-ups.

Orange does not always mean redlines

An orange blackwall version is recorded in 1977. Later entries include dark-green Speed Machines and other finishes, including red French and white Italian examples.

Keep the wheel type and country marking with the paint description. Do not use a later orange or green car as proof of a first-year configuration.

Body condition before a rarity label

Look along the long body for bends, repaired cracks and uneven seating. Inspect the window pillars and the opening around the intake without lifting the car by those thin sections.

Photograph the underside and all wheel faces. A wheel swap or repaint belongs in the description even when it improves the car’s appearance.

On a packaged example, make sure the blister lets you inspect the nose and rear corners. Compare carded collectibles separately from loose cars with missing or replaced parts.
