Description
Convert suitable AHM/Rivarossi six-wheel passenger-car trucks to Kadee coupling with the 505 conversion kit. Its shorter bolster arrangement also suits certain four-wheel applications where the truck is mounted unusually close to the car end.
Features and package contents
- One pair of conversion bolsters.
- Includes one pair of No. 5 couplers, draft gearboxes, No. 634 centering springs, screws and instructions.
- Shorter bolster configuration; also specified for the relevant 72-foot Con-Cor cars with end-positioned four-wheel trucks.
Compatibility and installation
Assembly and fitting are required. Confirm the exact truck and car against the conversion instructions; wheel count alone does not determine fit. The 72-foot Con-Cor exception uses No. 505, and some six-wheel trucks have had their center axles removed. Use suitable nonmagnetic trucks and wheels; Kadee specifies No. 521 or 522 replacement wheels where appropriate. Check clearance, coupler height and operation through your curves. Cars, complete trucks and wheelsets are not included.
