Description
Equip a compatible 21-pin model locomotive with steam sound using the SoundTraxx 881006 Econami ECO-21PNEM. This steam-profile decoder combines motor control, lighting outputs and digital audio in a board that plugs into an NEM-supported 21-pin socket.
Features and specifications
- Steam sound profile; part 881006.
- Board dimensions: approximately 30.5 × 15.5 × 6.6 mm.
- Maximum motor stall current: 1 amp.
- Six function outputs, 100 mA maximum per output.
- Audio amplifier: 2 watts into an 8-ohm speaker load.
- DCC track voltage: 7–22 volts; 12 sound channels.
- Optional 810140 or 810160 CurrentKeeper can be wired to the decoder.
- Includes one ECO-21PNEM steam digital sound decoder.
Compatibility and installation
Verify the locomotive socket standard, board clearance, motor stall current and speaker impedance before fitting. An apparently similar 21-pin connector is not sufficient proof of compatibility. Follow the Econami installation instructions for orientation, speaker connections and optional CurrentKeeper wiring. Speaker, CurrentKeeper, locomotive and DCC system are not included.
