Tamiya Yamaha RoadStar Custom 14135: What Comes with the Cruiser Kit?

Tamiya Yamaha XV1600 RoadStar Custom 14135 is a complete 1:12 motorcycle kit with the listed cruiser-style accessories, not an upgrade pack for another bike. Choose it when a large windshield, side bags, plated details and an exposed V-twin appeal more than a racing fairing and sponsor graphics.
The kit requires assembly, paint and model cement. Custom describes the supplied model configuration; it is not a request for Muncle Mikes to hand-build or paint a motorcycle for you.

The included accessories define the appearance
The RoadStar Custom kit lists a studded seat, tandem pillion pad, backrest, side bags and a large windshield. These pieces create the touring-style presentation described in the offer.
They are part of the kit's component set rather than real leather luggage or working motorcycle equipment. The represented studs and bag texture are details to finish and display.
Before assembling, study how the accessories attach and decide on the intended arrangement. Do not assume every optional-looking piece can be repeatedly fitted and removed after painting; follow the specific attachment method.
The V-twin is a major part of the build
The engine representation includes individual cooling-fin parts, giving the builder a different construction experience from covering most of an engine with a smooth sport-bike cowl.
Choose the RoadStar when you enjoy assembling visible engine detail and separating the finishes of adjacent surfaces. Read ahead so that small areas can be finished while accessible, rather than trying to reach between completed frame and engine assemblies.
Tubing represents the motorcycle's lines. Use the lengths and routes given in the instructions; it is included model-detail material, not an operating fuel or brake system.
Chrome and matte plating are not a finished paint job
The kit includes both glossy and matte plated components. Their different surfaces help distinguish mechanical and decorative areas, but the rest of the kit still requires the builder's finishing work.
Inspect attachment points and the instruction sequence before trimming and cementing plated parts. A glossy surface does not identify the material beneath it as solid metal, and using the wrong attachment method can affect the appearance.
The main parts are listed as gray where otherwise unspecified. Body colors and details in a completed photograph are not all prepainted in the box.
This cruiser needs more room than many 1:12 sport bikes
Tamiya lists the RoadStar Custom at 208 mm long, 89 mm wide and 121 mm high. A clear display stand is included.
Those dimensions make the windshield and bags important when selecting a case. A cover that suits a lower, narrower 1:12 racing motorcycle may not accommodate this model, even though the scales match.
Check usable interior clearance and the stand's complete footprint. Do not press a cover against the windshield or use mirrors and other small details as handling points.
Who should choose this kit?
It is a focused option for a Yamaha cruiser enthusiast or a builder who prefers exposed mechanical detail, plated finishes and luggage-equipped styling. A sport-bike collector who specifically wants an R1 should choose the relevant R1 kit instead.
For a gift connected to an owned motorcycle, confirm the XV1600 RoadStar identity and this Custom configuration. The presence of bags does not make it interchangeable with every touring bike from Yamaha or another manufacturer.
Plan the complete purchase
Check the current kit offer, then budget for the colors and assembly supplies required by the chosen scheme. The accessory parts are included as described; paints, cement and a separate protective display case are not a guaranteed bundle.
