MUNCLE MIKES COLLECTOR GUIDE
1984 Pontiac Firebird Collector Guide
The ’84 Firebird has a long, low nose and a broad glass hatch that make its third-generation shape easy to recognize. Its six pictured releases do more than change paint: gold Hot Ones, white-rimmed MC5 wheels and smooth AeroDiscs each give the same body a different period feel.

What to look for
The black pair deserves a close comparison. Flying Customs uses gold wheels, lower trim and interior; Stars & Stripes covers the black body with patriotic graphics above a red base. The 2023 blue and white cars also change wheels, with MC5 on blue and AeroDiscs on white. The later anniversary car has its own S5 combination.

Choosing one for your collection
Inspect the pointed nose and the edges of the rear spoiler. The large hatch area makes scratches easy to see when viewed from above.
Check wheel faces as well as body color. A wheel swap can make a loose car resemble another release without matching its original combination.
Collector questions
Do the two black releases share the same wheels?
No. GRT36 has gold Hot Ones wheels. HDH30 has black MC5 wheels with white outer rims and a Stars & Stripes livery.
