Auto World 1991 Eclipse GSX vs Eagle Talon TSi: Choosing the Right Model

Choose the Eclipse GSX for a Mitsubishi-focused collection and the Eagle Talon TSi when that exact Eagle subject is what you want. Auto World's linked 1991 models share the same approximate listed length and several features, but they are not interchangeable identities.

Two finishes for the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
The Maranello Red GSX, 64502-AWSP189A, and Tennessee Blue Metallic GSX, 64502-AWSP189B, both specify a black top. Red versus blue is therefore a choice of body finish around a shared roof contrast.
Both are identified as 1991 Eclipse GSX models in the Import Legends series. Choose one for a single-car display, or both when collecting color variations is the point. Buying both adds a second finish, not a second represented model year.
The Eagle Talon is a separate purchase
The 1991 Talon TSi, 64512-AWSP196B, is Medium Quartz Metallic with a black top. It appears under the Modern Muscle series label.
Someone requesting an Eagle Talon may be trying to match a car they owned. In that situation, an Eclipse with a similar era and overall shape is not an equivalent gift. Confirm the badge and trim name before deciding that one color simply looks closer.
What the miniature feature lists actually say
All three offers are 1:64, approximately 2.625 inches long, and describe opening hoods, rubber tires, blister packaging and diecast metal bodies and chassis. The published feature lists do not establish a functional advantage for the Talon or either Eclipse.
Import Legends and Modern Muscle help identify product lines; they are not sufficient evidence of different construction quality, manufacturing location or working drivetrains. Doors and steering are not listed as operating features on these offers.
A pair of colors or a pair of vehicle identities?
Two Eclipses work for a finish-focused display. An Eclipse and a Talon work for a display organized around different named 1991 subjects. Make that decision before buying a case or filling a shelf slot.
The red and blue Eclipses also appear in the corresponding A and B versions of Premium 2025 Release 1. The Medium Quartz Talon belongs to the listed Release 2 Set B mix. Our 2025 assortment comparison explains those different lineups.
Buy a full assortment only when the other cars are also wanted and its substitution caveat is acceptable. Otherwise, choose the exact single-car code and check current price and availability in the Autoworld Models & Collectibles collection.
