Clear, honest, collector-grade standards for Hot Wheels and diecast. No surprises, no hidden flaws.

How We Grade Diecast at Muncle Mikes

Every car is inspected under bright lighting and photographed honestly. We do not hide soft corners, blister dents, yellowing, paint flaws, or wheel issues. All grading is based on real collector expectations, not retail shortcuts. What you see is exactly what you receive.

Carded Hot Wheels Grading

Mint (M)

Card is clean, flat, and crisp. No creases, dents, soft corners, or blister flaws. Blister is clear with no yellowing. As close to factory-perfect as possible.

Near Mint (NM)

Light shelf wear only. One or two tiny imperfections such as a micro-crease, faint rub, or minimal corner softness. Blister clean with no cracks.

Excellent (EX)

Noticeable but moderate wear: small creases, soft corners, light blister scuffs, or minor yellowing. Still displayable and structurally solid.

Good (G)

Visible wear: creases, bends, corner rounding, blister dents, or yellowing. Card is intact but clearly used. Good for openers or budget collectors.

Fair (F)

Heavy wear: major creases, crushed corners, cracked blister, or significant yellowing. Card is compromised. Sold as-is for display or customs.

Loose Diecast Grading

Mint Loose

No chips, no scratches, no wheel wear, no play wear. Looks factory fresh. Often from adult collections or display-only environments.

Near Mint Loose

One or two tiny marks or micro-chips. Wheels clean and straight. Excellent display quality.

Excellent Loose

Light wear: small chips, minor edge rub, or slight wheel wear. Still clean and collectible.

Good Loose

Noticeable wear: multiple chips, scratches, or wheel wear. Good for customs or casual display.

Fair Loose

Heavy wear: paint loss, bent axles, rough wheels, or play damage. Sold as-is for parts or restoration.

Customs, Restorations & Modifications

Any car that has been drilled, repainted, wheel-swapped, polished, or restored is clearly labeled as a custom or restoration. We never list modified cars as originals. All customs include notes on paint, wheels, stance, and any replaced parts.

Photo Standards

Every listing includes clear photos of the front, back, sides, base, and close-ups of any flaws. Nothing is hidden. If a flaw exists, it is shown. If a blister has a dent, you will see it. If a loose car has a chip, it is photographed directly.
