Can-Am Commander vs Defender Diecast: Choosing a 1:32 Display Model

Choose Commander when that is the vehicle family you want to represent, or Defender when you want its distinct cabin-and-bed body shape. The BRP Models examples below are all approximately four inches long at 1:32. Similar dimensions make them easy to compare, not interchangeable purchases.
Compare BRP side-by-side families
Commander: two named trim presentations
The matte black Commander XT 1000R, 60030, shows an open roof frame over its cabin. The gray-and-orange Commander XT-P 1000R, 60029, shows a dark roof panel and contrasting orange details.
Both have a visible bed behind the cabin and a driver listed in the contents. Choose between them by the exact Commander trim, body color and photographed equipment you want to display.
Defender: a different cabin and bed outline
The silver-and-black Defender XMR, 60031, and navy-and-black Defender XT HD9, 60032, have the Defender's different front, cabin and cargo-body presentation.
The XMR photograph shows an open roof frame; the XT HD9 photograph shows a filled roof. Those visible details can help select a miniature that resembles a particular vehicle, but the badge and family remain important. A roofed Commander is not a Defender simply because both have beds.
Use dimensions for the shelf—not real-vehicle capability
The Commander offers list approximately 4 inches of length, 1.875 inches of width and 2.375 inches of height. The Defender offers list the same approximate length and width but a 2.5-inch height.
That makes a side-by-side model comparison practical. The small listed height difference does not establish a difference in the miniatures' load capacity or durability, and none of these models should be selected using full-size towing figures.
All four describe rubber tires, a driver, and diecast construction with plastic components. No opening panels are listed. A bed shown in a photograph is not confirmation that it tips or that its tailgate opens.
Choose variety deliberately
For an owner-matching gift, select the family and trim first. For a collection covering several Can-Am designs, one Commander and one Defender add two named body subjects. Two Commander colors instead serve a narrower version-collecting goal.
For a scene with loose cargo or extra figures, measure the actual bed and seating areas before buying accessories. Same scale is a starting point, not a guarantee of attachment or fit.
Choose the pair or single vehicle that serves your display plan, then review the current offers in the BRP Models Can-Am collection.
