Display Cases for Welly Models: Measure Cars, SUVs and Semi Trucks

Choose a display case from its usable interior dimensions, not a label saying it fits 1:24 cars. A low sports car, tall SUV and articulated truck need different space. Welly's listed measurements are a starting point; a tight fit calls for confirmation of the actual model.

Compare the whole footprint

The black Porsche 356A Speedster soft-top model is listed at approximately 6.25 inches long, 2.75 wide and 2 high. The Silver Metallic Cadillac Escalade is approximately 7.5 by 3.5 by 3 inches.

The Escalade therefore needs more height and width even though both belong to broadly comparable car-display categories. Check mirrors, projecting trim and the roofline rather than measuring only the body between the wheels.

Allow room for the display you intend to create

A model shown with doors closed needs less width than the same model with its doors open. A raised hood also requires additional height. Catalog dimensions generally should not be treated as guaranteed maximum dimensions with every panel extended.

For an illustrative planning exercise, adding half an inch of clearance on every side of an 8-by-3.5-inch model produces a 9-by-4.5-inch base area. That is arithmetic, not a tested case recommendation. You may need substantially more room for open doors, angled placement or a plinth.

Also measure any raised lip or interior support. A case advertised with outside dimensions can have a smaller usable base after accounting for its walls and mounting features.

A 1:18 Bentley is a separate size decision

The black Bentley Continental Supersports is approximately 10 by 4.5 by 3.25 inches in its listing. It has an opening hood, doors and trunk. Plan the extra clearance around those openings before buying a fitted enclosure.

A larger scale does not itself guarantee a particular mounting-hole pattern. Do not buy a screw-down base on the assumption that mounting points are standardized across Welly models.

Long truck combinations need long shelves

The Kenworth T2000 with gray container is listed at approximately 22 inches long, 3.25 wide and 5.25 high. Leaving it straight on a shelf is a different plan from displaying the tractor at an angle to the trailer, which increases the width needed.

Check rear-gate access and handling room, not just whether the truck can be squeezed behind glass. A model that must be lifted by fragile accessories to remove it is too awkwardly fitted.

Boxed models require package measurements

The car's length is not the length of its unopened retail box. Decide whether you are displaying the miniature, its supplied packaging or both. None of the product links in this guide is a separate display-case offer.
