Johnny Lightning Street Freaks: Scrapin', Flames and Project Cars

Six carded Street Freaks models: purple Gremlin, Gulf Hummer, weathered Chevelle, blue-flame GTO, blue Impala and black-and-red Fury

Choose Johnny Lightning Street Freaks by the style you want to display: the Scrapin' Impala's lowrider look, a GTO covered in flames, a weathered project Chevelle or a mixed assortment. The theme names describe different treatments of the vehicles. The six-car 2025 Release 1 Set B brings six of those themes together; the singles let you concentrate on one vehicle and finish.

These are factory-produced Johnny Lightning models. Their custom-car appearance is part of the release design. Start with the actual car, decoration and package, then decide whether the full assortment adds models you want.

Six styles in one Street Freaks assortment

JLSF027B contains six 1:64 models, each in its own blister pack. The photo shows all six regular cars and their different card designs. It is useful for a varied Street Freaks display: the Gremlin's exposed engine, the Hummer's height and the Impala's long body create visibly different shapes. The assortment's possible chase substitution is explained below.

Choose a set or a specific finish

Open each exact offer for its current price, availability and gallery. The single-car photos combine a packaged view and an enlarged view of the same miniature; they do not advertise two-car sets.

Scrapin': compare the two Impala finishes

Both singles represent a 1961 Chevrolet Impala SS 409. JLSF027-JLSP406B is blue metallic with white graphics and a white interior. JLSF027-JLSP406A is yellow metallic with red graphics and a red interior. The package photographs identify Version B and Version A respectively, and the model's interior color is visible in the enlarged views.

The two exact versions are listed with rubber tires, a metal body and chassis, an opening hood and an approximate length of 3.125 inches. Their shared vehicle and contrasting finishes make a focused side-by-side display. The blue version appears in the regular Set B assortment; the yellow version is a separate color choice, so do not expect both Impalas in that six-car order.

Scrapin' is a styling theme. The descriptions do not establish working hydraulics or adjustable suspension. Choose these models for the photographed stance and finish. If changing the ride height is essential to your plan, that feature needs its own confirmation; the series name alone does not provide it.

Black with Flames: the GTO's decoration leads the choice

The 1974 Pontiac GTO, JLSF027-JLSP405B, has a blue front, black roof and rear body, blue flame graphics and white interior. The illustrated package uses the Black with Flames name. Its specification confirms rubber tires, a metal body and chassis, an opening hood and an approximate length of 3 inches.

This is a Johnny Lightning production finish, not a car hand-painted by Muncle Mikes. If you organize a shelf around flames, compare the actual model's graphics and color balance with the cars you already own. The package artwork is useful context, but the miniature inside is the item you are choosing.

The regular Set B also includes this black-and-blue GTO treatment. Buying the assortment and this single adds another example of that advertised version. That can suit a sealed-and-loose pair, but it is worth deciding before you order if your goal is variety.

Project in Progress: weathering is part of the design

The Set B Chevelle SS 396 is described as Tripoli Turquoise with a weathered finish. Its photograph shows contrasting panels, giving the car an unfinished-project appearance. The assortment is listed as new. The worn appearance belongs to the model's factory finish and does not by itself mean the miniature has been previously owned.

Keep that design choice separate from the condition of the actual item and its packaging. A deliberately weathered car can suit a workshop scene, while a damaged blister is a different issue. The other five models also matter when choosing the set: the Gulf Hummer, flame-decorated Fury and exaggerated Gremlin produce a much more varied group than a shelf of matching Impalas.

Allow space for the actual model and package

The Impalas' listed length is about 3.125 inches, compared with about 3 inches for the GTO. The complete set's description gives a wider approximate range of 2.5–3.5 inches. These are catalog figures, not measurements taken by Muncle Mikes, and they do not specify the blister dimensions.

For a fitted case, check width and height as well as length. The Gremlin's exposed engine and the Hummer's taller silhouette need room above the shelf; a sealed display needs space for the full backing cards. Our Johnny Lightning size and display guide explains how to measure the complete arrangement.

Questions about Street Freaks sets and singles

Does the six-car set contain one randomly chosen model?

No. JLSF027B is the complete six-vehicle assortment described in the table. Each of the three individual product offers shown here contains one car. Match the complete item number and quantity when comparing them.

Will a White Lightning chase add a seventh car?

No. The assortment's notice allows a possible chase in place of one regular model. It is not guaranteed and does not increase the quantity. If a specific regular finish is essential, take that substitution condition into account.

Does every model in the assortment have an opening hood?

The assortment description does not establish that feature for every car. The two Impala singles and the GTO have their own documented opening hoods. Do not extend those specifications to the Gremlin, Hummer, Chevelle or Fury without checking the exact model.
