SkyMax Bearcats: VF-61 SM1013 vs Duxford SM1014
Choose SM1013 for the 121717 VF-61 Jolly Rogers subject, or SM1014 for the 121714 Duxford restored-aircraft subject. These SkyMax Bearcats share a scale and listed display features, but their variant labels, identifying numbers and represented dates differ.

The SM1013 offer identifies an F8F-2, aircraft number 121717, VF-61 Jolly Rogers and 1949. The product photograph shows the number 101 presentation.
Keep those identifiers together when choosing a model for a squadron collection. The large display number, the longer aircraft identity and the manufacturer's SM code serve different purposes; none should be substituted for another when checking the exact release.
SM1014: the Duxford restored-aircraft subject
The SM1014 listing identifies F8F-2P, number 121714 and a Duxford restored-plane presentation dated 2014. Its photo shows number 201.
Restored plane describes the represented aircraft, not the condition of the miniature. The model is listed as new. Likewise, 2014 describes the advertised appearance rather than implying that the original aircraft type was first built in that year.
This is the more direct choice for someone collecting restored-aircraft subjects or seeking that specifically identified Duxford presentation. The listing does not establish a signed pilot item, restoration paperwork or a current ownership record.
What the variant wording does—and does not—promise
The two offers explicitly use F8F-2 and F8F-2P. Retain the P where the specific variant matters to your collection. Do not erase that difference just because both miniatures have a similar Bearcat silhouette.
The product descriptions do not document every internal equipment difference or provide an opening camera compartment. A variant designation is not a promise that all real-aircraft equipment is reproduced as functional miniature parts.
The shared display arrangement
