Find the Right Manual and Parts for Your Tamiya Model

Tamiya Toyota GR Supra 1:24 static model-kit box, item 24351

Tamiya has made the Toyota GR Supra as a static model kit, a Mini 4WD racer and a radio-controlled car. To find instructions or replacement parts for yours, start with the Tamiya item number. For a Mini 4WD or RC car, the chassis name helps narrow the search further.

Start with the model number

Look for the item number on the box or instruction cover, and keep the full model name alongside it. These three Supra kits show how much that number can tell you:

Three Tamiya GR Supra kits
Item Type of model Useful detail
24351 — Toyota GR Supra 1:24 static plastic model kit Includes right- and left-hand-drive assembly choices.
18655 — Toyota GR Supra Mini 4WD PRO Uses the MA chassis and includes a double-shaft motor.
58703 — au TOM'S GR Supra 1:10 radio-controlled model Uses the TT-02 chassis.

Searching for “Supra motor” leaves out the distinction that matters. Searching for “Tamiya 18655 MA chassis” points you toward the Mini 4WD model. If your box has a longer regional reference, keep that full reference when asking a shop or support service for help.

Find the matching instructions

For an RC car, match the full chassis designation on the manual to your car. TT-02, TT-02D and TT-02 Type-S have separate instructions; the shared TT-02 name is not enough to choose the right document.

Once you open the manual, compare its cover and the relevant assembly drawing with your model. This matters especially with a used car: a previous owner may have changed the chassis or put the car in a different box. A familiar body shape alone cannot settle which instructions you need.

For a static kit, the instructions help identify both the assembly step and the individual piece. If something is missing, use the kit number plus any runner or part marking shown in the drawing. If you no longer have the instructions, include the item number and a clear photo when you ask Muncle Mikes for help identifying the kit and its instructions.

Choose parts for the chassis you have

Keep RC and Mini 4WD parts searches separate, and start with the chassis name. Item 18655 uses the MA chassis; item 58703 uses the TT-02. Match the exact chassis and assembly before choosing a part.

Open the individual part's page before buying it. Tamiya warns that a set can appear in a Mini 4WD compatibility list even when only one of its components fits that chassis. For example, the usable part may be the pinion gear rather than the whole gear set.

If a used model has been modified, compare the installed parts with the drawing before ordering replacements. When the box and chassis do not agree, photograph both and ask for help identifying the chassis. That is the point to resolve the mismatch, before buying a part that depends on it.

Check what you need to finish or run it

Finding the right kit is also the time to check supplies. Mini 4WD item 18655 includes its motor but requires two AA batteries separately. Tamiya's photo of static kit 24351 shows a painted, assembled model, so use the instructions to work out which finishing supplies you need.

For an RC car, read the exact offer's description for radio equipment, battery, charger and any other requirements. A shop's bundle may differ from the manufacturer's basic kit, and an offer in another country may include different equipment. Compare the included items with the instructions before buying the extras.

When you ask us about a Tamiya model or part, lead with the item number and the problem. Add a photo of the relevant assembly step or installed part when you can. That gives us a useful starting point before you spend money on a replacement.

Starting a new static-model project?

The 1:24 kit below is the static Supra in the comparison. Its parts and instructions belong to item 24351; they are not a substitute for the Mini 4WD or RC versions.

Before you order

Is the body name enough to find replacement parts?

No. Tamiya uses the Supra name for different kinds of models. Use the full item number, plus the chassis name for an RC or Mini 4WD car.

Can I use TT-02 parts on the MA Mini 4WD chassis?

Treat TT-02 and MA as different systems. Buy a part only after checking that exact part number against the chassis and assembly you have; the Supra name alone does not make the parts interchangeable.

What else do I need for the static Supra kit 24351?

Paint and model cement are separate. Use the instructions to choose your finishing supplies; the model needs assembly before it can go on display.
