Welly 1:24, 1:25, 1:26 and 1:27: Which Scale Should You Choose?

Choose by exact scale for a proportionally consistent scene, and by actual model dimensions for a shelf or case. Welly cars labeled 1:24, 1:25, 1:26 and 1:27 can occupy similar space, but the ratios are not interchangeable.
What changes between 1:24 and 1:27?
A scale ratio divides a full-size dimension by the number after the colon. For the same vehicle reproduced exactly, a 1:24 model would be 12.5% longer than a 1:27 model. This is a mathematical comparison, not a measured difference between two Welly releases.
As an illustration, a hypothetical 180-inch car would be 7.5 inches long at 1:24, 7.2 inches at 1:25, about 6.92 inches at 1:26 and about 6.67 inches at 1:27. Real product dimensions still need checking because vehicle sizes differ and catalog measurements are approximate.
The collection contains specific scales, not just one category
The blue 2015 Mustang GT 5.0 is listed at 1:24, while the yellow 2024 Mustang GT 5.0 is listed at 1:25. Both descriptions give an approximate 7-inch model length. That does not prove they share the same scale or dimensions in every direction.
The green 2020 Defender is listed at 1:26 and approximately 7 inches long. The silver 2019 RAM 1500 is listed at 1:27 and approximately 7.5 inches long. A larger real vehicle can therefore produce a longer miniature despite a smaller scale ratio.
How to read a 1:24–1:27 label
Some Welly listings use a range such as 1:24–1:27 rather than one exact ratio. Welly also groups products within a broader 1:24–1:27 catalog category. Neither wording means one model changes size or that you can select any ratio in that range at checkout.
For a range-labeled model, use its stated dimensions for space planning. When exact proportion is essential, confirm the scale shown on the individual model or packaging instead of silently rounding the whole range to 1:24.
Can these models share a display?
For a casual shelf of favorite vehicles, neighboring scales can be an acceptable choice when you like the combined appearance. For a street scene with figures, parking spaces and buildings, choose one intended scale and verify the accessories as well. A case marketed for 1:24 cars is not a dimensional guarantee for every SUV or pickup.
Do not infer wheel, axle or body-part compatibility from matching scale labels. Those are physical fit questions that require measurements of the specific parts.
Choose the rule that matches your project
For strict modeling, start with the ratio. For a gift or standalone display, start with the desired vehicle and its footprint. Review the exact scale and current listing in the Welly collection before ordering.
