Identity should be established in layers: title first, then vendor, then SKU, then the photographed details. The scale marker 1:87 is part of the exact identity and should be matched before purchase. The year 1968 belongs to the listing identity; it should not automatically be treated as the manufacturing date of the item. For this record, F977-87DC68005 is the compact reference that can be checked against invoices and packaging.
The verified description in context

This 1:87 HO scale diecast model is intended for layouts and collector display. Review the listing photos for the exact graphics, wheels and packaging. Item: 87DC68005.” The wording is treated as a source excerpt, not as a substitute for independent fit, scale or condition checks.
What matters for this kind of product
The most useful way to evaluate 1968 Dodge Charger Racing Green/White – Oxford 1:87 is to separate identity from condition. Identity comes from the subject, scale or casting, finish, graphics, wheels and SKU. Condition comes from the actual photographed surfaces, packaging and moving parts. Mixing those two questions can lead to a correct model being described with the wrong condition.
For this listing, F977-87DC68005 should be saved with the gallery. That preserves the release-level evidence even if similar editions later appear under shortened titles.
The details to verify next
Similar diecast products often differ in small, high-value details. Review the wheel spokes, tire profile, base color, glazing, interior, license or race markings and package code. The aim is not to assign a grade from a distance but to confirm that the delivered item matches the release purchased.
Display and handling should follow the format: loose models need nonabrasive separation, packages need edge and blister protection, and project cars need a documented baseline before disassembly.
Using the gallery as evidence
Review all 3 available images in sequence rather than judging the item from the first thumbnail. Front, side, reverse, package and detail views answer different questions. The record is strongest when those views agree with the title and SKU F977-87DC68005.
Before committing the item to a project
- Match the full title and F977-87DC68005.
- Confirm the selected variant and displayed quantity.
- Review the exact image set for the distinguishing details named above.
- Resolve every missing fit, scale, material or compatibility point from current instructions.
- Check live price and availability immediately before ordering.

The collection record worth keeping
After purchase, store the acquisition date, price, seller, SKU F977-87DC68005, selected option and one clear image with the project or collection record. Add notes about fit, assembly, condition or performance only after they are observed on this exact item.
This separates verified ownership evidence from later opinion and makes a replacement or repeat purchase much easier.
Gift considerations
As a gift, 1968 Dodge Charger Racing Green/White – Oxford 1:87 is strongest when the recipient already uses this scale, format, subject or product family. Check for duplicates and fit-sensitive details before choosing it solely from the brand name.

Why the complete record should be retained
1968 Dodge Charger Racing Green/White – Oxford 1:87 is filed as a Scale Model Cars from Oxford Diecast. Its compact reference is F977-87DC68005. Preserve the product URL, one clear image, the selected option and the receipt with those identifiers. A related item may look nearly identical while differing in quantity, scale, color, road number, hardware, package or compatibility.
The most reliable ownership note separates three stages: what the seller stated, what arrived, and what happened when the item was used or displayed. That structure supports later troubleshooting and replacement without adding unsupported claims to the original listing. It also makes the article auditable because every conclusion remains tied to the exact product instead of the surrounding category.
