1971 Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA #79 Spa – Minichamps 1:18: Scale, Subject & Display Guide
Rather than repeating the catalog description for 1971 Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA #79 Spa – Minichamps 1:18, this guide turns the scale model cars listing into a decision record. It explains how the Minichamps item is identified, how the available evidence should be read, and where confirmation is still required.

The scale marker 1:18 is part of the exact identity and should be matched before purchase. The year 1971 belongs to the listing identity; it should not automatically be treated as the manufacturing date of the item. The number 79 separates this release from visually similar versions. The quantity wording 300 pieces should be reconciled with the package photo and option selected. The working catalog key is F977-155711279. That key should travel with the saved URL and product image so a later comparison does not collapse this item into another scale model cars listing.
Confirmed facts versus assumptions
The source description says: “Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA #79 driven by Pierre Rubens and Charles-Axel van Ryn in Levi's graphics at the 1971 24 Hours of Spa by Minichamps. This 1:18 scale limited-edition model is limited to 300 pieces worldwide. Review the listing photos for the exact race livery, wheels and packaging. Item: 155711279.” This is useful evidence, but it is not expanded beyond what the listing supports. Missing dimensions, materials, compatibility claims or package contents remain open questions.
How to evaluate this product type
For a diecast or scale collectible, the subject name alone is insufficient. Compare body casting, finish, graphics, wheel design, interior, base markings and packaging format. On 1971 Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA #79 Spa – Minichamps 1:18, the exact photo set and SKU F977-155711279 are the reference pair; a model with the same vehicle name but a different wheel, road number or package is a different release.
Condition language must also match the format. A loose item is judged from the photographed surfaces and axles, while a packaged item adds card, blister, box and seal condition. A finished custom should be assessed for workmanship and disclosed modifications; a build kit should be assessed for included parts and fitment rather than as a completed collectible.
Using the item with confidence
Similar diecast products often differ in small, high-value details. Review the wheel spokes, tire profile, base color, glazing, interior, license or race markings and package code. The aim is not to assign a grade from a distance but to confirm that the delivered item matches the release purchased.
Display and handling should follow the format: loose models need nonabrasive separation, packages need edge and blister protection, and project cars need a documented baseline before disassembly.
What to inspect in the product images
The photographed item is part of the specification. With 1 image indexed, a buyer can compare color, form, labels, contents and visible condition before relying on a shortened title. Save the image that best shows the identifier F977-155711279.

The collection record worth keeping
After purchase, store the acquisition date, price, seller, SKU F977-155711279, selected option and one clear image with the project or collection record. Add notes about fit, assembly, condition or performance only after they are observed on this exact item.
This separates verified ownership evidence from later opinion and makes a replacement or repeat purchase much easier.
Gift considerations
Gift buyers should match F977-155711279 to a known collection, project or preference. If size, scale, interface or exact version is uncertain, preserve the receipt and avoid opening fit-sensitive packaging.
