Chessex Reversible Battlemat – 1-Inch Squares and Hexes 96246 – product view 1

This page is devoted to Chessex Reversible Battlemat – 1-Inch Squares and Hexes, the exact gaming mats sold under the Chessex record. The goal is practical identification: what the listing confirms, what remains unverified, and what a buyer or builder should compare before using the item.

The record that separates this item

  • Exact product: Chessex Reversible Battlemat – 1-Inch Squares and Hexes
  • Brand or vendor: Chessex
  • Product type: Gaming Mats
  • SKU or catalog key: CHX96246

Identity should be established in layers: title first, then vendor, then SKU, then the photographed details. For this item, the safest match uses the complete title, vendor, SKU, product type and image together. None of those identifiers should be replaced by a broad category assumption. For this record, CHX96246 is the compact reference that can be checked against invoices and packaging.

What the current listing actually confirms

The product page identifies the item this way: “Map tabletop encounters on a reusable oyster-colored vinyl Battlemat. Chessex 96246 measures approximately 23.5 × 26 inches, with 1-inch squares on one side and 1-inch hexes on the other. Use water-soluble wet-erase markers and clean with water; markers are separate. Manufacturer: Chessex Part number: 96246” That excerpt anchors the guide, while the gallery, SKU and selected variant provide the remaining evidence needed for an exact match.

Planning around the exact item

The most useful way to evaluate Chessex Reversible Battlemat – 1-Inch Squares and Hexes is to separate identity from condition. Identity comes from the subject, scale or casting, finish, graphics, wheels and SKU. Condition comes from the actual photographed surfaces, packaging and moving parts. Mixing those two questions can lead to a correct model being described with the wrong condition.

For this listing, CHX96246 should be saved with the gallery. That preserves the release-level evidence even if similar editions later appear under shortened titles.

Using the item with confidence

A good collection note records what is visible and avoids unsupported rarity claims. Write down the exact color wording, graphics, wheel treatment, package condition and any disclosed customization. Market value can change; the product identity should remain reproducible from the record.

Upon arrival, compare the item with the listing images before opening or altering it. Any material discrepancy is easier to document while the original packaging and shipping materials remain intact.

Using the gallery as evidence

The photographed item is part of the specification. With 1 image indexed, a buyer can compare color, form, labels, contents and visible condition before relying on a shortened title. Save the image that best shows the identifier CHX96246.

Before committing the item to a project

  1. Save the listing URL under CHX96246.
  2. Compare the product image with the expected subject or component.
  3. Check whether optional tools, motors, paint, batteries or accessories are separate.
  4. Verify the intended storage, display or installation space.
  5. Record any unanswered question before checkout.

Cataloging and project notes

After purchase, store the acquisition date, price, seller, SKU CHX96246, selected option and one clear image with the project or collection record. Add notes about fit, assembly, condition or performance only after they are observed on this exact item.

This separates verified ownership evidence from later opinion and makes a replacement or repeat purchase much easier.

Gift considerations

For gifting, the product image can verify the visual subject while the SKU CHX96246 verifies the release. Both checks matter when the recipient collects small variations.

Completing the evidence trail

To close the record for Chessex Reversible Battlemat – 1-Inch Squares and Hexes, pair SKU CHX96246 with the live image and the stated vendor, Chessex. The listing classifies it as Gaming Mats.
