Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird "United States Air Force" | Runway24: Scale, Subject & Display Guide

This page is devoted to Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird "United States Air Force" | Runway24, the exact scale model aircraft sold under the Runway24 record. The goal is practical identification: what the listing confirms, what remains unverified, and what a buyer or builder should compare before using the item.

The record that separates this item

• Exact product: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird "United States Air Force" | Runway24
• Brand or vendor: Runway24
• Product type: Scale Model Aircraft
• SKU or catalog key: F977-RW230
• Variants reviewed: 1
• Product images indexed: 3

The recorded price at verification was $16.81 before shipping and tax. No variant was shown as orderable when the record was checked; the page can still be useful for identification.

The complete title is meaningful here, not decorative. For this item, the safest match uses the complete title, vendor, SKU, product type and image together. None of those identifiers should be replaced by a broad category assumption. Keep F977-RW230 with the product record because abbreviated names often omit the detail that distinguishes one version from another.

Confirmed facts versus assumptions

The product page identifies the item this way: “Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird aircraft in black United States Air Force markings with runway section by Runway24. This diecast aircraft display set is intended for collector display. Review the listing photos for the exact aircraft, runway section, markings and packaging. Item: RW230.” That excerpt anchors the guide, while the gallery, SKU and selected variant provide the remaining evidence needed for an exact match.

Practical use and compatibility

The most useful way to evaluate Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird "United States Air Force" | Runway24 is to separate identity from condition. Identity comes from the subject, scale or casting, finish, graphics, wheels and SKU. Condition comes from the actual photographed surfaces, packaging and moving parts. Mixing those two questions can lead to a correct model being described with the wrong condition.

For this listing, F977-RW230 should be saved with the gallery. That preserves the release-level evidence even if similar editions later appear under shortened titles.

Where similar listings differ

When comparing another example, line up the images in the same order and inspect one feature at a time: front view, side graphics, rear treatment, wheel pattern, roof or hood markings, base text and package. A difference in any of those areas can indicate a variation rather than an error.

For display, choose storage that supports the item without pressing on mirrors, spoilers, blister edges or axles. For a build, dry-fit wheels and moving parts before paint or permanent adhesive. The product format determines which of those checks applies.

Image-by-image verification

Review all 3 available images in sequence rather than judging the item from the first thumbnail. Front, side, reverse, package and detail views answer different questions. The record is strongest when those views agree with the title and SKU F977-RW230.

Before committing the item to a project

• Use the complete name, not a shortened marketplace label.
• Use F977-RW230 to prevent a near-match substitution.
• Read the variant and inventory state shown now.
• Confirm technical requirements from the current manufacturer source.
• Keep the receipt and one reference image with the product record.
