The quantity wording 504 pieces should be reconciled with the package photo and option selected. The SKU F977-87-0661 provides the most efficient cross-check when another listing uses slightly different punctuation or wording.
Confirmed facts versus assumptions
The product page identifies the item this way: “MCI D4520 commuter coach bus in Burlington Trailways red-and-white graphics by Iconic Replicas. This 1:87 HO scale limited-edition model is limited to 504 pieces worldwide. Review the listing photos for the exact graphics, wheels and packaging. Item: 87-0661.” That excerpt anchors the guide, while the gallery, SKU and selected variant provide the remaining evidence needed for an exact match.
How to evaluate this product type
The most useful way to evaluate Burlington Trailways MCI D4520 Coach Bus – Iconic Replicas 1:87 is to separate identity from condition. Identity comes from the subject, scale or casting, finish, graphics, wheels and SKU. Condition comes from the actual photographed surfaces, packaging and moving parts. Mixing those two questions can lead to a correct model being described with the wrong condition.
For this listing, F977-87-0661 should be saved with the gallery. That preserves the release-level evidence even if similar editions later appear under shortened titles.
Where similar listings differ
Similar diecast products often differ in small, high-value details. Review the wheel spokes, tire profile, base color, glazing, interior, license or race markings and package code. The aim is not to assign a grade from a distance but to confirm that the delivered item matches the release purchased.
Display and handling should follow the format: loose models need nonabrasive separation, packages need edge and blister protection, and project cars need a documented baseline before disassembly.
Using the gallery as evidence
The gallery contains 3 indexed product images. Compare label text, package shape, visible contents, finish and any small identifying marks with the delivered item. A context image can show tools or related products that are not included, so the written record and selected option still control package contents.
Pre-purchase checklist for this exact record

- Confirm the selected variant and displayed quantity.
- Review the exact image set for the distinguishing details named above.
- Resolve every missing fit, scale, material or compatibility point from current instructions.
- Check live price and availability immediately before ordering.

Recording this product accurately
The permanent record should answer three questions: what exact item was bought, what arrived, and how it was used or stored. The title and F977-87-0661 answer the first; arrival photographs answer the second; project or collection notes answer the third.
Keeping those layers separate improves future comparisons and avoids unsupported grading.
Gift considerations
As a gift, Burlington Trailways MCI D4520 Coach Bus – Iconic Replicas 1:87 is strongest when the recipient already uses this scale, format, subject or product family. Check for duplicates and fit-sensitive details before choosing it solely from the brand name.

A final exact-item review
For Burlington Trailways MCI D4520 Coach Bus – Iconic Replicas 1:87, finish the decision by reading the title, product type and SKU as one identity. The vendor is Iconic Replicas, the listed product type is Scale Model Buses, and the working SKU is F977-87-0661. Save those fields together rather than relying on a thumbnail or shortened name. Then compare the received item with the listing image before it is opened, assembled, modified or placed in a collection.
Record anything that affects this exact item: selected option, package condition, quantity received, fit result, installation notes or visible variation. That observation belongs to this product record and should not be generalized to every related release. Keeping the original evidence and the later ownership notes separate makes the article useful for repeat orders, repairs, collection audits and accurate identification.
