Identity should be established in layers: title first, then vendor, then SKU, then the photographed details. The scale marker 1:87 is part of the exact identity and should be matched before purchase. The year 1959 belongs to the listing identity; it should not automatically be treated as the manufacturing date of the item. For this record, OXD87PS59001 is the compact reference that can be checked against invoices and packaging.
What the current listing actually confirms
The source description says: “This 1959 Plymouth Savoy sedan wears Ohio Highway Patrol decoration in a compact 1:87 scale model. The black-and-white police finish and roof light provide a distinct vehicle for an HO street scene. Product identification Manufacturer: Oxford Diecast Item: 87PS59001 Scale: 1:87 / HO Planning and use Compare the color and size with your scene before fixing the scenery in place. Other trees, structures and finishing supplies are sold separately.” This is useful evidence, but it is not expanded beyond what the listing supports. Missing dimensions, materials, compatibility claims or package contents remain open questions.
Practical use and compatibility
Collectors should read Oxford 87PS59001 1959 Plymouth Savoy Ohio Patrol 1:87 as a combination of casting, finish, release details and presentation. The useful comparison is not “same brand” but “same exact configuration.” Check the images for tampo placement, paint edges, wheel style, glass, base, stance and any included packaging before using another listing as a reference.
The item number OXD87PS59001 is especially important when the title contains a real-car year or model name. That year can describe the subject rather than the miniature’s release date, and two editions can share the same subject while differing in graphics, color or production series.
Second-pass inspection
Similar diecast products often differ in small, high-value details. Review the wheel spokes, tire profile, base color, glazing, interior, license or race markings and package code. The aim is not to assign a grade from a distance but to confirm that the delivered item matches the release purchased.
Display and handling should follow the format: loose models need nonabrasive separation, packages need edge and blister protection, and project cars need a documented baseline before disassembly.
What to inspect in the product images
3 product images were available to the catalog at verification. Use them as item-level evidence: zoom in on the SKU, graphics, edges, connectors, part arrangement or package callouts relevant to this ho scale diecast cars. Do not substitute a generic manufacturer image when the exact listing supplies a more specific view.
