Polar Lights USS Discovery NCC-1031 pre-built model 1:2500 POL979M, product image 1

This page is devoted to Polar Lights U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031 Pre-Built Model – 1:2500, the exact scale model spacecraft sold under the Polar Lights record. The goal is practical identification: what the listing confirms, what remains unverified, and what a buyer or builder should compare before using the item.

How this release is identified

  • Exact product: Polar Lights U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031 Pre-Built Model – 1:2500
  • Brand or vendor: Polar Lights
  • Product type: Scale Model Spacecraft
  • SKU or catalog key: F977-POL979M
  • Scale stated in the record: 1:2500
  • Year appearing in the identity: 2017
  • Variants reviewed: 1
  • Product images indexed: 3

The recorded price at verification was $83.36 before shipping and tax. At least one variant was orderable when the record was checked.

The scale marker 1:2500 is part of the exact identity and should be matched before purchase. The year 2017 belongs to the listing identity; it should not automatically be treated as the manufacturing date of the item. The working catalog key is F977-POL979M. That key should travel with the saved URL and product image so a later comparison does not collapse this item into another scale model spacecraft listing.

Planning around the exact item

Collectors should read Polar Lights U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031 Pre-Built Model – 1:2500 as a combination of casting, finish, release details and presentation. The useful comparison is not “same brand” but “same exact configuration.” Check the images for tampo placement, paint edges, wheel style, glass, base, stance and any included packaging before using another listing as a reference.

The SKU F977-POL979M is especially important when the title contains a real-car year or model name. That year can describe the subject rather than the miniature’s release date, and two editions can share the same subject while differing in graphics, color or production series.

Second-pass inspection

The exact item should drive the decision. A collector seeking an original release, a builder seeking a donor casting and a gift buyer seeking a recognizable subject may all evaluate the same listing differently. Recording those intended uses prevents condition or packaging details from being overlooked.

Keep the invoice, SKU and one reference photograph with the collection record so the item can later be distinguished from a close variant.

Image-by-image verification

3 product images were available to the catalog at verification. Use them as item-level evidence: zoom in on the SKU, graphics, edges, connectors, part arrangement or package callouts relevant to this scale model spacecraft. Do not substitute a generic manufacturer image when the exact listing supplies a more specific view.

Pre-purchase checklist for this exact record

  1. Save the listing URL under F977-POL979M.
  2. Compare the product image with the expected subject or component.
  3. Check whether optional tools, motors, paint, batteries or accessories are separate.
  4. Verify the intended storage, display or installation space.
  5. Record any unanswered question before checkout.

Preserving the identity trail

The permanent record should answer three questions: what exact item was bought, what arrived, and how it was used or stored. The title and F977-POL979M answer the first; arrival photographs answer the second; project or collection notes answer the third.

Keeping those layers separate improves future comparisons and avoids unsupported grading.

Gift considerations

Gift buyers should match F977-POL979M to a known collection, project or preference. If size, scale, interface or exact version is uncertain, preserve the receipt and avoid opening fit-sensitive packaging.

Verification worksheet for this listing

Use F977-POL979M as the checkpoint for Polar Lights U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031 Pre-Built Model – 1:2500. Confirm the vendor name Polar Lights, the product type Scale Model Spacecraft, the selected variant and the photographed item before checkout. If a required size, scale, material, interface or included component is absent from the live record, write it down as unresolved and obtain the answer from the current instructions or manufacturer source.

After delivery, add a dated photograph and a brief result note. A builder can record fit, materials and finishing choices; a collector can record package and item condition; a user can record compatibility and care. Those details make the record genuinely product-specific while preventing a later observation from being confused with a factory specification.
