This item is best cataloged under its full name and VLJSC305. The scale marker 1/35 is part of the exact identity and should be matched before purchase. The year 1987 belongs to the listing identity; it should not automatically be treated as the manufacturing date of the item. Manufacturer item SC305 is a stronger matching key than a shortened marketplace title. The stated finish is Unpainted EAN: 8429551987158 Paint and additional scenery materials are sold separately, which should be checked against the exact image rather than a generic brand photo. That combination protects against accidental substitutions when related products share a subject, color, scale or series.

Confirmed facts versus assumptions

The source description says: “Vallejo Scenics SC305 is a four-piece 1/35 scale set of dry tree stumps with roots and a fallen limb. Detailed bark and exposed interior textures make the unpainted pieces suitable for woodland, marsh, clearing and logged-area dioramas. Product details Manufacturer: Vallejo Manufacturer item: SC305 Scale: 1/35 Contents: 4 scenery pieces Finish: Unpainted EAN: 8429551987158 Paint and additional scenery materials are sold separately.” This is useful evidence, but it is not expanded beyond what the listing supports. Missing dimensions, materials, compatibility claims or package contents remain open questions.

What matters for this kind of product

For a diecast or scale collectible, the subject name alone is insufficient. Compare body casting, finish, graphics, wheel design, interior, base markings and packaging format. On Vallejo SC305 1/35 Stumps with Roots, 4-Piece Scenery Set, the exact photo set and SKU VLJSC305 are the reference pair; a model with the same vehicle name but a different wheel, road number or package is a different release.

Condition language must also match the format. A loose item is judged from the photographed surfaces and axles, while a packaged item adds card, blister, box and seal condition. A finished custom should be assessed for workmanship and disclosed modifications; a build kit should be assessed for included parts and fitment rather than as a completed collectible.

A closer project or collection check

A good collection note records what is visible and avoids unsupported rarity claims. Write down the exact color wording, graphics, wheel treatment, package condition and any disclosed customization. Market value can change; the product identity should remain reproducible from the record.

Upon arrival, compare the item with the listing images before opening or altering it. Any material discrepancy is easier to document while the original packaging and shipping materials remain intact.

Why the exact photo set matters

1 product image were available to the catalog at verification. Use them as item-level evidence: zoom in on the SKU, graphics, edges, connectors, part arrangement or package callouts relevant to this diorama scenery. Do not substitute a generic manufacturer image when the exact listing supplies a more specific view.
