A Red Hot Wheels GMC Syclone with Wheels to Match

Left side of the red custom Hot Wheels GMC Syclone with a covered bed and black wheels edged in red

The thin red rings around the wheels are a small detail, but they bring this Hot Wheels GMC Syclone custom together. The wheel centers stay dark, the rings pick up the body color, and the rubber tires frame both. Nothing about the color scheme has to compete with a large door number or a row of sponsor logos.

The red bed cover keeps the same simple look going behind the cab. If you like pickups that sit low and look tidy on a shelf, this completed Muncle Mikes custom has plenty of appeal. Its interest comes from the color, the wheel treatment and the shape of the truck.

The covered bed changes the whole profile

Look along the side and the red body carries on almost uninterrupted from the cab to the tailgate. The solid bed cover makes the back look like one broad surface. It gives this little truck a different character from a pickup with an open cargo bed full of molded equipment.

Front three-quarter view of the red GMC Syclone custom showing its dark cabin and red bed cover

From the front corner, you can see the open side window, dark interior and wheel rings together. The small Syclone script near the bottom of the door adds just enough detail to the otherwise plain side. On a display shelf, that angle makes the truck easier to recognize than a direct overhead view.

Black wheel centers, red outer rings

The four-spoke wheels keep most of their face black. Their narrow red rings catch the eye without turning the whole wheel into a bright disk. The effect is especially clear in the opposite side photograph, where the red rim follows the curve of each black tire.

Take a moment to look at the finish around the windows and wheel openings as well. Fine marks are visible on the windshield, and the surface has small variations around some edges. Those details help you decide whether this particular custom has the appearance you want.

Rear three-quarter view of the custom red GMC Syclone with a solid bed cover and black rear bumper

The rear angle gives the best view of the flat bed cover and dark bumper. That red-and-black combination is worth keeping visible when you display the truck. A little space behind it lets you see more than the front grille and wheels.

Pickup or wagon for the next space on your shelf?

The blue Datsun 510 Surf Patrol wagon is a useful alternative if you enjoy compact utility shapes. Its enclosed roof, side graphics and red wheels make a busier display than the plain red Syclone. They can sit well together, but each adds something different.
