Matchbox Nissan Junior: Blue & White vs. Multicolor

The Matchbox 1962 Nissan Junior Mini Truck offers a compact pickup shape for a Japanese vehicle collection or a small street scene. The blue-and-white and red-white-green examples in MM's catalog share the vehicle name, but their color descriptions are different. Use those descriptions to locate the cars, then use the gallery to compare the actual decoration and condition.

Make the choice by purpose

Your plan Start with Check before ordering
A quieter street display Blue and white Whether its colors work with your backdrop
A brighter truck focal point Red, white and green Exact placement and condition of decoration
A casting comparison Both examples Separate photos, base notes and condition records
A custom project The suitable individual car Wheel clearance and the finish you will retain

Both listings describe a loose vehicle without its original card or packaging. The three-color name is a catalog description, not proof of a particular promotional release, national theme or production rarity. Those claims require additional evidence beyond the colors visible on a truck.

The pickup bed deserves its own inspection

Do not stop at the cab. Review the rear, bed edges and visible bed interior, because those areas shape the truck's display appearance. Inspect any apparent cargo separately: a shape in a photo may be molded detail rather than a removable accessory. Treat nothing as included unless the listing describes it or clearly shows it as part of the offered item.

Check the wheels on both sides and compare the truck's stance. Look for tilted wheels, uneven gaps and contact between tire and body. A shelf display may tolerate minor rolling issues that would frustrate someone buying a car for frequent handling. Decide what you need before judging whether the condition is acceptable.

A convincing delivery scene without invented features

Start with a street, a loading area and a small amount of scenery. Place the truck where its profile and bed can be seen. Loose crates can help tell a story, but measure them and avoid forcing props into the bed. Keep any added pieces removable and record that they are display accessories, rather than original Matchbox components.

The year 1962 belongs to the represented vehicle name in these listings. It does not mean the miniature was produced in 1962. Likewise, the brand alone does not prove that every car and truck in your scene is exactly 1:64. Measure the model when doors, figures or loading docks need to align.

Preserve or modify?

If you bought the truck for its decoration, photograph both sides before cleaning and use a gentle approach that avoids rubbing printed details. If you bought it for a wheel swap, measure the actual wheel wells and axle arrangement first. A pickup's stance can change noticeably with oversized tires, and a part described as “1:64” is not automatically compatible.

Compare the two linked galleries, then choose the one that fits your collection. For the next step, the custom Matchbox guide covers the questions to ask before buying wheels or a DIY project. Neither truck listing should be read as including a modification kit.
