1955 Plymouth Savoy Collector Guide
The Savoy looks like it has spent years earning its scars. That weathered aqua finish is part of the design, paired with a low stance and wide rear drag tires. It is a good one to study closely: genuine playwear and the printed rust can look similar in a hurried listing photo.

What to look for
The 2024 Boulevard release recreates the HOT ROD Garage Savoy built by Alex Taylor and Lucky Costa. HRT58 is number 101 in the series. The miniature keeps the patchy finish, race lettering and mismatched front and rear tire profiles that give the full-size build its character.

Choosing one for your collection
Compare a suspected paint chip with the reference photo before calling it damage. Printed rust follows the decoration; a fresh chip can expose bright metal along a raised edge.
Check the rear tires and the thin front wheel faces. On a loose example, ask for both sides and the underside so the intentional patina does not distract from bent axles or missing tire pieces.

Is the rusty finish damage?
The weathering is factory decoration on HRT58. It can still have real wear, so look separately at panel edges, wheel rims, glazing and the base.
