Choosing one for your collection
If the changing finish is the reason you want one, ask the seller to demonstrate it on a loose car. One photograph cannot establish whether it still changes as expected. Check the hood decoration and paint surface separately from the operation of the feature.
The low nose and tops of the rear fenders are useful places to look for wear. On a packaged example, inspect the blister for cracks and the backing for staining. A sealed package lets you assess what is visible, but it does not demonstrate the color-changing action.
