1993 Mazda RX-7 R1 Collector Guide
This RX-7 rewards a closer look under the hood. The RLC casting adds an opening panel to the FD’s rounded shape, while the two finishes take different approaches: bright red with silver wheels, or steel blue with bronze wheels and a tan cabin.

What to look for
HWF04 is the 2024 red edition. JCP16 is the 2025 steel-blue car with ten-spoke Real Riders and HIGHRPM on the rear plate. These belong to the RLC R1 family, so keep them separate from fixed-hood mainline RX-7s when comparing a collection.

Choosing one for your collection
Inspect the hood shut before admiring the engine. An opening feature is most useful when the panel still meets the surrounding body neatly.
Look along the separate rear wing and the curved front bumper for chips. Ask for an underside view if a loose model has unfamiliar wheels or finish.

No. This guide covers the RLC 1993 RX-7 R1 with that feature. Similar-looking mainline RX-7s are separate releases and should be identified on their own.
