1967 Ford GT40 Mk IV Collector Guide
The Mk IV’s long body gives its racing numbers plenty of room. Number 1 marks the red debut, number 4 the yellow companion, and the Gulf pair switches to number 9. Later number 27 and 67 liveries make this a satisfying family to line up by decoration rather than simply by year.

What to look for
Two bare-metal cars need an extra look. The 2024 ZAMAC release wears number 27 with black graphics; the 2026 Hot Ones car wears number 40 with red-and-blue striping. The silver Motor Show five-pack car is different again, with number 67 and red wheels. Do not let a silver color description collapse those three releases together.

Choosing one for your collection
Check the long nose, cockpit edges and rear deck for chips. A top-down photograph is especially useful because much of the number and stripe printing sits on horizontal panels.
Inspect the wheels on both sides and the low front edge. The car’s broad body can hide a bent axle in an overhead picture, so include a low side view when comparing condition.
Collector questions
Are the two unpainted releases identical?
No. HTF56 is the 2024 number 27 ZAMAC car. JKX45 is the 2026 number 40 Hot Ones release with different graphics and wheels.
