Wind Splitter is the Ultra Hots name used on this BMW M1 casting. The green car’s yellow-and-black top decoration, dark glazing and slotted wheel faces give it a very different look from the earlier red BMW-liveried release. Match those details together rather than treating every M1 as the same version.
The green Ultra Hots version
The written casting guides list a metallic-green Wind Splitter for 1985, with yellow-and-black decoration, dark glazing and Ultra Hots wheels. The photograph shows those features and the black rear hatch.
The sources differ on the item number and country assignment for green versus aqua examples. Keep an underside photograph and any original package label with the car; color alone does not resolve those entries.
Look at the rear hatch
The BMW M1 casting has an opening rear hatch. Check that it sits squarely and that the hinges have not been repaired. If it resists opening, leave it closed rather than forcing a fragile part for a photo.
Inspect the pointed front corners, roof edges and printed lightning pattern. Chips and rubbed printing can be hard to distinguish from dark decoration in a small photograph. Ask for soft, even light across the top.
