2020 Hot Wheels Mainline Checklist — Verification in Progress

2020 mainline checklist: verification in progress

The earlier list on this page was incomplete and contained incorrect entries. We have removed that list so it is not used to identify a car, mark a collection complete or guide a purchase. This page will remain out of search indexing until the numbered entries have been verified.

What the 2020 checklist covers

Mattel's 2020 mainline announcement describes 250 castings, with additional color and other editions beyond that count. It also identifies 50 new models, 15 Treasure Hunts and 15 Super Treasure Hunts. A casting checklist and a list of every individual release are different records.

A useful checklist must keep the mainline number, exact casting name and mini collection together. Color, wheels, packaging and release identifiers need their own evidence when you are checking a particular version. A year in a vehicle's name is not by itself the Hot Wheels release year.

Before buying a car to fill a gap

  • Check the exact name and mainline number on the card when packaging is available.
  • Compare the body, decoration, wheels and base with the release you are trying to identify.
  • Confirm whether the listing is a single car, a lot or a boxed set, and read its condition and included accessories.
  • Do not use a custom paint job or replacement wheels as proof of a factory release.

The collector guide hub offers guides for specific casting and release questions. The Nissan Skyline R32 collector guide explains why similar vehicle names can describe different Hot Wheels castings and releases.
