2013 ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser — Gold (X1963)

One of the three debut-year Tuske Gasser releases

The gold X1963 belongs to the ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser’s first Hot Wheels release year. Its raised front end, exposed engine and Tuske Gasser door graphics distinguish the drag-racing casting from a stock ’55 Chevrolet. All three 2013 colors share collector number 190/250; the paint, lettering and base color separate this release from its siblings.

How to identify X1963

Start with the metal body’s metallic gold paint and blue tuske lettering above the Gasser name on the doors. The sides also carry the number 68, HW Garage and Holst’s Auto Service graphics. The hoodless nose exposes the chrome-colored engine, while the front axle sits below the raised body.

The original wheels are chrome-colored five-spokes, commonly abbreviated 5SP. The rear wheels are larger than the fronts. Clear windows, a chrome-colored interior and a black plastic base complete this release’s combination.

The three debut colors

The gray X1634, gold X1963 and black X1875 are separate 2013 color releases of the same casting. Their shared 190/250 number is not enough to identify the colorway.

2013 release Body / side lettering Base
Gray · X1634 Primer-gray paint; gold tuske lettering Black plastic
Gold · X1963 Metallic gold paint; blue tuske lettering Black plastic
Black · X1875 Black paint; red tuske lettering Gray plastic

The gray and gold versions use black bases. The black version’s gray base is another useful distinction when comparing loose examples.

Condition and comparable examples

Compare this release with examples that share the same paint, graphics, wheels and base. The name ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser alone covers many different releases, including premium models with different construction.

For a loose example, inspect the roof and fender edges for paint chips, check the printed graphics, and examine the axles and wheels. Look at the base and rivets for signs of opening or modification. A wheel swap changes the model from its original factory configuration.

For a carded example, inspect the blister, its seal and the card corners. Keep loose and carded comparisons separate. When researching value, use dated completed sales for the same release and condition; an asking price by itself does not establish a sale value.

X1963 — Frequently Asked Questions

X1963 collector FAQs

Is 190/250 unique to this color?

No. The gray X1634, gold X1963 and black X1875 debut releases share collector number 190/250. Use the color, decoration, base and toy number to distinguish them.

Why are the rear wheels larger?

The larger rear wheels and raised front end are features of this drag-racing casting. This release uses five-spoke plastic wheels.

Is this the ’55 Chevy Panel?

No. The ’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser is a separate casting with a sedan body, exposed engine and nose-high stance. The ’55 Chevy Panel has an enclosed panel-truck body.

Can a copyright date identify the release year?

A copyright date alone does not establish a model's release year. Compare the documented color and component combination with the release record and original packaging.
